Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 If we could trade Smoak I would forget about a lot of bad things. If signing Justin Smoak to a 2 year $8M deal continues to be the worst thing Shatkins does - we're in excellent shape.
Ehjays Verified Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Vs RHP RF Fowler SS Tulo 3B Donaldson DH Morales LF Pearce C Martin 2B Travis 1B Smoak CF Pillar Vs LHP RF Fowler SS Tulo 3B Donaldson DH Morales 1B Pearce C Martin LF Upton CF Pillar In my opinion we have the potential to put together some damn good lineups, but I'm 100% sold that we need to sign Fowler to lead off. You only have 8 in the line-up vs LHP
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 You only have 8 in the line-up vs LHP He just left Travis out...
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 or this http://i.vimeocdn.com/video/461036834_1280x720.jpg Omg! That isn't gonna end well ! Lol Kids don't try this at home.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 I'm told Pearce's kids are named Mojo and Swagger. That's odd.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 i'm told pearce's kids are named mojo and swagger. That's awesome. ftfy
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 You only have 8 in the line-up vs LHP Oops good catch, as Brownie noted I left Travis out somehow.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 I'm told Pearce's kids are named Mojo and Swagger. That's odd. If True, why did I just snort timmie's out my nose! Lol
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Yeah, all of those game winning homers and clutch hits were really turning my stomach as well. He's a Bosox fan.

TholesWeirdEye Verified Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 I like the Pearce signing. I don't see why they would platoon Pearce and Smoak as Pearce's splits are better than Smaok vs RHP. Pearce Splits:
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 ftfy It isn't awesome. Retarded names are stupid. People trying to be the coolest ones in the room.

I don't see why they would platoon Pearce and Smoak as Pearce's splits are better than Smaok vs RHP. Pearce Splits: Smoak is better than Upton vs RHP so Pearce can slide in to LF. That's the benefit of having a versatile defender.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 It isn't awesome. Retarded names are stupid. People trying to be the coolest ones in the room. Retarded names, and dads naming their sons after them (at least first names, middle names aren't as bad) are two things that really annoy me.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Jays haven't ruled out re-signing Encarnacion http://www.rotoworld.com/images/headshots/MLB/3817.jpg A team source told Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports that the Blue Jays have not ruled out re-signing Edwin Encarnacion. Toronto recently added two players with similar skillsets to Encarnacion in Kendrys Morales and Steve Pearce, but Heyman's source said "miracles do happen." It still seems much more likely that the veteran slugger will end up heading somewhere else. Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reported Monday morning that the Indians have checked in on the Encarnacion market, and the Red Sox could look to make a late run at him.

And her name is Jensen. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/person-interest-new-blue-jays-utility-player-steve-pearce/ He must be a funny guy then, as apparently his twitter bio suggests it's Mojo and Swagger. I didn't realize Tulo's son is named Taz either.

In what world does Steve Pearce have a similar skill set to Edwin?
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 In what world does Steve Pearce have a similar skill set to Edwin? They're both baseball players.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Probably interested in him in a "3 for 60" way now. Signing Pearce helps our leverage. It sounds like Edwin legit wanted to come back, but his agent wanted to squeeze every penny.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Signing Pearce helps our leverage. But the agent still works for Edwin, so if he really wanted to come back and was OK with the Jays offer, he'd be back.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 I'm expecting a notification about Edwin firing his agent anytime now.

Not much difference between $80M and $90M when you already have like $50M. He is loved here and he loves it here.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 With Pearce and Morales on the roster, I'd be disappointed if they spent a big chunk of what they have left on Edwin at this point. Just move on and try to improve the outfield.
SweetSmellingChacin Verified Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Fowler makes a lot more sense than EE at this point, given how the offseason has gone so far. How many 1B/DH types does this team need?
