Ultimate Verified Member Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Mark Trumbo 3/48 Neftali Feliz 2/10 Jon Niese 2/12 Dioner Navarro 1/7 Why in the world would Navarro make 7 million a year coming off a horrible season?? He's been at about 4 mil per year the last 3 years coming off decent seasons. If he gets an MLB contract it will surely be for less than 4 mill.
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Love to see tolleson or melacon Jansen would be great aswell though would be happy with Cecil Reddick /desmond Eddy Please !! Cespedes woukd be kinda sweet .. but not sure worth breaking the bank for Isn't Tolleson s*****?
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Trumbo is definitely an interesting option as well.

jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 If you like being extremely disappointed... Huh?
Nabru Verified Member Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Huh? Trumbo is an average player even at his absolute best.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Huh? Mark Trumbo is the opposite of what the Jays need. He strikes out a ton, doesn't walk, and if he doesn't hit a homerun he gives you nothing on the field or at the plate.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Isn't Tolleson s*****? He's not elite or anything, but there's no way in hell that a 24% HR/FB rate he had last year is sustainable, which made his numbers look real s*****. The thinking is that he if he regresses next year the Jays would have a pretty decent reliever on the cheap.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 I wouldn't touch Trumbo with a 10ft pole.

metafour Verified Member Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Fair enough. I just figured he would be a decent EE/Bautista replacement Were you the guy from the Moneyball movie? "We need to replace 'X' HRs and 'Y' RBIs!".
bendera3 Verified Member Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Fair enough. I just figured he would be a decent EE/Bautista replacement Don't let the homers fool you. EE/Bautista have turned into great hitters who hit a lot of home runs. Trumbo punched out more and walked less than EE last year. If he had even a little defensive versatility then I can understand wanting him but he's pretty much a DH or occasional 1B. No thanks.
Mittens87 Verified Member Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Were you the guy from the Moneyball movie? "We need to replace 'X' HRs and 'Y' RBIs!". Lay off him. We do need production. But Trumbo isn't someone you can expect to repeat 2016, without the home runs he's basically Saunders. He does strike out a lot and doesn't get on base much. Just from browsing Orioles hangout and reading up on him, haven't seen his defensive stats, he is no good in the field. He never said we need a certain amount of home runs. Fans are going to expect a certain level of production from whoever plays first if it's not Edwin, not smoak. Better options than Trumbo though
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 I'm curious as to how Trumbo would grade out if left at 1B full time. Teams keep putting him in the OF and tanking his value, but he was a 3B earlier in his career, and in 3000+ innings at 1B he has 12 DRS and 14.5 UZR (1.3/150). If he can play the position at an average level and put up a 110-120 wRC+, he actually does fill a hole. Obviously you don't want to give him a huge contract, but he could be a good addition at the right price.

Trumbo was one of the more obnoxious things about 2016. He homered the O's out of so much trouble. They doubled down on DHs and it worked out as well as they could have dreamed.

ILikeSoccerandBaseball09 Verified Member Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 Players i wouldn't touch with a 20ft foot pole Tolleson Trumbo Moss Crisp Hannigan Navarro
Driveof85 Verified Member Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 I'm gonna go with: 1) Jose Bautista 2) Dexter Fowler 3) Mark Melancon I'd agree with Fowler, then add Inciarte
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 I'd agree with Fowler, then add Inciarte Cost is too much for Inciarte. Get that idea out of your head.

I'm worried about his price but I think it's come down a lot with his poor play for the Dodgers.
