  1. Fowler and Desmond did get QO. They will be more than 12 million. pearce, donno about him in everyday OF, Gomez isn't really a great bat. Donno how Pagan would do, he is getting old also. None of those guys is really much better of an option. Fowler probably wants 4/65 or something, maybe more or less.... Probably same deal with Desmond, someone will over pay for him
  2. Okay not reddick or Bruce but who are a couple options that are better? Who is available that is so much better of a fit?
  3. Who do you think they should sign?
  4. He was sent down and called up 7 times from 2008-2010. Then was on the 60 day DL in 2010 and 2011. Released. Then Baltimore signed him and got hurt in 2015, 15 day DL in June 2016 and again ended this year on the 60 day DL. Probably why they only want him as platoon.
  5. Some players aren't built to play deep into their 30's as an everyday player. Steve hasn't got a full season in, but was getting sent down a lot and never got a good chance. Think it was just this season he was dealing with injuries
  6. It's a joke. But the front office wants him playing, I'd prefer him somewhere else. If you don't like smoak you should probably not watch because he will be playing. I'd make a large bet he gets 300 PA or more, like he has the last 2 years in Toronto. Not everyone on the team is going to be able to make contact, some of them are just destined to strike out and bat 9th. Wasn't Pearce injured at the end of last season? He is pretty old an got only 265 or so plate appearances. Not worth more than 5 million. Nobody will expect him to start every game even though I think he is better than smoak from R and Lhp
  7. Smoak and Saunders were together in Seattle and then Toronto, apparently good friends. Saunders was most likely dragging Smoak down and could only be a good thing to separate them. I see smoak having a first half like Saunders and a Twitter campaign to get him in the all star game. Worst case scenario there isn't someone like Edwin to compete with and he might not feel as much pressure as when Gibbons did throw him out there this year. Seeing a few of his interviews he always seemed pretty down on himself, maybe that's just his personality though. He should not be allowed near the Internet at all during the season.
  8. Some scouting report said that he was struggling before 2015 but the last 2 years has improving a lot, said on the industriales Cuban team they were on together JR might have been the second best player. Who knows what he can turn into. Said he's on about the level of any mid first round draft pick with lots of potential but obviously not proven mlb talent
  9. Edwin probably goes to Houston which wouldn't be so bad.
  10. The view is skewed because they generally don't hit anyway. A .300 career batter will be bound to have some of those hits count more than someone like smoak. Smoak was very clutch in Texas, against Minnesota too. So good clutch hitters don't try as hard in lower leverage spots ?
  11. A couple big hits will stick in people mind not the other 10 times they didn't come through before that. I think basketball you could put a bit more stock in clutch shots late in the game Ortiz has actually been below the average of his career in clutch situations.
  12. Too much luck in baseball for it to take clutch too seriously. Down by 1 in the 9th if Donaldson hits a hard line drive and the 3rd baseman makes a diving play it's not clutch, but if it gets by him it is?
  13. Yea. f*** you
  14. Holy f*** you are retarded
  15. Once I figure out how to upload of me throwing a rock 95 mph at a jack o lantern you won't be laughing. Morosi "blue Jays sign Canadian free agent mittens to a 2/8.5m contract, pending vetting"
  16. Ya I know. The sample over the past couple years isn't bad
  17. I think the bottom line is this deal is not as hard to find something to like as say when we got Melvin Upton. Imagine he was a free agent this year and they signed him. People would be desperately searching for stats to find an upside.
  18. I thought the name the cute. Obviously a mistake now looking back
  19. I am Mittens
  20. Maybe I can help you find your friend who you have mistaken me for. What is his address on the WWW (world wide web)
  21. Where's a link to this? Who are these people. You are confused sir.
  22. Also the 30 home runs and 90 rbi looks pretty good to the casual fan though he is just a DH. I doubt many random fans are disappointed even if it's not Edwin
  23. No World Series in 2016. Royals fans aren't happy they couldn't afford to keep him and also that he went to Toronto. They seemed to be pretty fond of him. Only judging by the 6 fans they have on their board, though Not like Saunders where nobody here seems to care he is gone and will probably end up getting similar money to big ken, and is basically not much better than a dh himself. And they could plunk him in the field if he needed to fill in couldn't he?
  24. Was never on an old forum
  25. I like when people post quotes from buck and pat as their own
