I don't understand why people think that a reputable league like the KBO wouldn't have performance enhancing drug restrictions and suspensions for players who test positive. I know it's sort of a joke, but it comes off as ignorant in my opinion.

I could not find anything recent but assuming they have continued on they likely still test. To Be Fair Eric Thames always was a monstor:
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Fowler can probably get a CF gig somewhere. The Jays would have to blow other offers out of the water to get him and lose a pick in the process, and that's assuming he wants to sign in Toronto to play RF or LF. Don't see it happening. Holliday makes sense and now I want to see it happen.

The CF thing was important last year to set him up for this contract. He kinda sucks in CF and after 4/5 years he's not going to get another money deal.

In a second tier league, they may be more concerned with an exciting product than some vague Western sense of fair play.

He will take the most money but some players prefer playing a certain position. Austin Jackson signed with a team that would put him at CF last season. One year deal but still. If the Jays offer the most money then there's always a chance but if money is close, then ny guess is he takes the CF gig.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Should have pulled the trigger on that Greinke for Snider Drabek and JPA deal

You also don't think it's possible the KBO would try to protect their star player? http://scontent.cdninstagram.com/t51.2885-15/s480x480/e15/11378362_1603290129951145_798949965_n.jpg

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 It's not really fair to assume that anyone who is jacked is on steroids (nor for that matter is it fair to assume that anyone who isn't is clean).

Governator Community Moderator Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 It's not really fair to assume that anyone who is jacked is on steroids (nor for that matter is it fair to assume that anyone who isn't is clean). It's not fair to do that with anyone sure... but not every AAAA player can just go overseas and instantly become the king of the KBO while looking like a body builder either. It should be okay to at least question it when wanting to sign back essentially a foreign player at this point.

Sometimes life isn't fair. We assume things and create stereotypes because a lot of the times if it smells like s*** and looks like s*** - it's s***. It's not ideal - but it's how our society works.

He already looked like a body builder when he was a s*** player in North America though. I'm not saying he's clean but the he got jacked and started killing the KBO narrative doesn't work. It's not only is it lazy but it doesn't even line up with what we know about the player.

BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Speaking of Lunch Box Hero, is he out of baseball? He didn't play in the MLB last year. Tellez may be ready for prime time. He bats left IIRC. Maybe Cola and Tellez platoon at DH? Don't forget about Cola. I am sure Smoak spiked his drink and he'll be 2017's comeback kid.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Colabello is arb eligible. I figure he gets cut.
