Obviously, we're all heartbroken that our Blue Jays couldn't make it through to the WS, struggling mightily in the hitting department. But, no real fan of this sport can come away from this without giving an immense amount of credit to the opposing team.

The Indians' pitching was absurd, their defense rock solid, their hitting timely and powerful when it was most necessary. Huge credit to the studs that are Francisco Lindor, Jason Kipnis, Carlos Santana, Corey Kluber, Cody Allen, and of course no one can forget about Andrew f***ing Miller. What a series this last guy had, as dominant of a performance as any of us have ever witnessed in one postseason series. Of course these guys were just the headliners, but they got key contributions from the entire team, from Perez's fantastic game calling and framing, to the pitching staff who executed almost every pitch to perfection, completely baffling Blue Jays hitters.

This team hasn't hoisted the big trophy since 1948, here's to them having a fantastic WS clash against any of the two NL teams remaining. The team is simply full of likeable players, not excluding Terry Francona.

Congrats and good luck in the next round.

Good season boys.

They'll be Swept by the Cubs

lets see if the Cubs even make the WS, I hope the Indians win regardless. I don't hate any one of their players, they handled everything professionally and efficiently.

Weird to lose to a team you don't hate. Props to them. That being said, Jays s*** the bed. Should have been an easy win past Kluber.

Not that sad at all. Cleveland was better, has been better all year and is a fun team to watch. Plus, I absolutely love Andrew Miller to bits. After experiencing crushing defeat to a s***** team that BABIP lucked its way to the top, this barely registers.

Today was a game where I feel more apt to blame the Jays' offense, but the series was fantastic pitching and managing on Cleveland's part.

No problem in adding to this thread. Deserved win.

I'd still like to see the Cubs win it but if Cleveland do? Good luck to them.

I mean, you never want your team to get eliminated. That's where the sad part comes.

But in the rest, I agree with you. They were the better team this series, and the better team during the regular season. I'm happy for them, I was f***ing fuming last year against KC and their s***** ass bloops and BABIP luck. Like I said, big props to them, no credit taken away whatsoever from their win, even more amplified in that they were without three of their top players.

That's what I said in GDT, I'll give Cleveland credit for good pitching, but if we didn't destroy whatever his name is today, it's all on the Jays offense. Also, never liked Francona when he was with Boston, but he earned my respect.

I don't really hate Bauer because hes somewhat amusing, but f*** is he a moron.

Its a tough pill to swallow but definitely not near as bad as last year. Sucks to think with a few clutch hits in these low scoring games this series could be a lot different but that's baseball I guess. looking forward to the world series and even more to the offseason

I've liked Cleveland for a few years now, and the fact that they dominated us here without Carrasco or Salazar is very commendable.

Our boys did the best they could with their skillets. I think if guys like Bautista could change their approach, they probably would.

Though I'm looking forward to seeing what Shapiro does with our offense in the off-season, I'm thankful for what Jose did for us in the past, what Edwin did previously and especially this season, what Saunders did in the 1st half, Dickey's string of consistency, and Cecil's periods of dominance. I will miss all of these guys in some way or another if they leave, except Thole, he f***ing sucks.

Onwards and upwards! Let's go Blue Jays, and win the WS Cleveland!

Not mad at all. I mean it sucks that the Jays lost, but nothing but respect for the Indians. They played great ball all series and are incredibly well managed. They also didn't even have Carrasco, Salazar, and Brantley, which makes it even more astonishing that they played so well. That team is really well built.

The fact that Shapiro had a hand in building that team, or at least was in the same role as he is now in that setting, is a great sign for the Jays.

Not even mad, better team won this one this series without a doubt!

Will be wearing my Carrasco jersey while watching Cleveland take down the NL

Thanks a lot Shapiro for building an Indians team with a mere $98million payroll - 23rd in Baseball - and having it beat us rather easily. The Jays and our $140 million payroll = well Shapiro - time to go to work.

I am an outsider and was surprised an opposing team would be as tolerant as this board was this week while I supported the Indians. The applause here is that you have a group of posters that are very passionate and extremely knowledgeable about baseball, and honestly you know more about the game than I ever will to be honest.

While I tried to scatter a post here and there to show respect that this is your house, I was never treated as a troll. I learned more about the Blue Jays in these last few days than I ever would have thought, and it was interesting to read the back and forth about your team. You have a good grasp of what your team could/didn't achieve, and what the roster could look like moving forward.

I can tell you I remember when John Hart drove the Indians organization when we went to the '95 & '97 World Series, and Mark Shapiro was right there in his hip pocket. The obvious difference I see for Shapiro this time is payroll. I don't want to get started on the Dolan family and their complete disregard for raising the payroll budget, but when a guy like Mark Shapiro can put together a really good plan structured team around one of the lowest payrolls in the business and last as long as he did, trust me you're going to see the results in Toronto. Mark is shrewd and a winner.

Just because the Indians couldn't get a WS win under him should not betray the winning atmosphere Mark instilled here in Cleveland. He never complained, he never made excuses, and he always had a keen eye on developing his farm system; just look who Cleveland gave up in the Andrew Miller trade and that should be indicative of the diversity of a Shapiro organization.

I have to say you guys are a real class act here on this board.

You obviously support your team as much as we support ours, and the words expressed here in this appreciation thread really give an Indians fan a great source of pride. We aren't a perfect team and we don't deserve any special accolades just because we may have overachieved (in some reports) predictions. We lost our best player (Michael Brantley), and then our catcher (Yon Gomes), and then with the AL Central and home field advantage on the line we lose Carlos Carrasco and Danny Salazar, #2 and #3 starters. So props to players left standing to compete against a great ballclub like the Toronto Blue Jays.

There were many Indians fans worried about losing to the Jays in this ALCS, and when it was 3-1 we started to do the SP math about coming back to Cleveland 3-2.

Anyway great series. You have a lot to hold your head up about.

Even though they eliminated the Jays, the Cleveland Indians really is a team that I can root for, unlike the KC Royals last year.
