Great news! Our lineup will be even stronger now... Wonder if he gets put in the OF or DH

If he's DHing then he's not ready. I want him back 100%

Not necessarily. Zeke in RF, EE at 1B and Jose at DH is probably the best team possible with the current squad.

My bad. I thought you meant in the rehab start. Not sure why I even thought that.

I would prefer he not rush back. But if it gets Carrerra away from the top of the lineup I'm on board. RF needs to be focus at the deadline. Reddick makes way too much sense.

Bautista as a DH would be him at 100%. The fact he's still playing the OF is kind of a joke at this point.

It's amazing how quickly his skills declined out there and he did it all to himself trying to get Demon Young at first last April. He really had one of the most feared arms of RF up to that point and totally f***ed himself because of anger issues. It's kind of surprising that incident doesn't get brought up more.

I think we all just want to forget it.

He made some good throws against the Yankees in September... So i'm not sure what's wrong with him

I'm not sure we can point to that incident as posters have mentioned above he threw as good as ever in that Yankee game.

And even if it is still an issue, the loss of throwing power alone doesn't account for the bad routes and misreads usually when close to the wall that have been evident this season from Jose in RF.

I'd argue if it wasn't that throw it would have been the next cannon attempt. Seems like it was inevitable.

This reminds me of a time when me and a few buddies were going camping and the morning before we leave my friend insists on doing some martial arts practice before he goes, well as it so happens he ended up tearing his ACL and couldn't walk for a good few months. We always ragged on him how if he had just listened and came camping right away he would of been fine, not sure if it really works that way though - could of been already messed up and was a ticking time bomb.

ANYWAYS,

it does seem like a pretty short rehab stint if hes up by Monday, his timing might be messed up.

Bautista's always been a bad outfielder though, even in his younger days, its part of the reason he became a journeyman in the place. Before the power breakout with us he actually could have been a everyday full time player if his defence was averagish

his ego is probably in the way of that happening with the jays.

nice story... but wasn't he a 3rd basemen when he had his breakout.

Funny because Darwin Barney is probably the 2nd best defensive OF on the team. Both Bautista and Saunders are butchers, luckily they can rake.

I'll take Carrera over Barney.

I like Barney in the roll he has had this year, coming in and giving a lot of guys days off, while still hitting well. His defense is good everywhere he has been.

Do I want him to be an every day outfielder, hell no, but I don't mind him having the odd game out there.

Yeah I forgot about him somehow.

Hes not really a good defensive outfielder either. Nothing special anyway.

Pumped to watch the offense with him back in it

Martin and Tulo killing it now and a healthy Bautista, that's a scary lineup 1-8.

If they put him in on Monday I hope they us him as DH and if health Zeke is good enough in RF. Barney looks more and more like the utility guy. Could be a big game with Sanchez on the mound..........
