Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Pompey's out every few weeks with something new.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Imagine Pillar's chin might kill him in a collision in the outfield !!!
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Pompey to the DL with a concussion. Jesus christ. I think we can officially say that Dalton Pompey is made of glass.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Jesus christ. I think we can officially say that Dalton Pompey is made of glass. At least he made the out.
flafson Verified Member Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 We should have traded him when we had the chance.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 What if that was the last time we'd ever see Joey in a Jays uniform? misplaying a ball in the outfield? If so, then I'd say fitting. As much as I respect what he's done at the plate, the insistence on keeping him in the OF has been comical....right down to the f'ing commercial this year of him pitching from RF.

One of the best hitters in the franchise's history and you think an OF injury is a fitting end because the org has let him play his old position past the expiry date? Come on.

Maahfaace Verified Member Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Fitting would be ending his tenure with a home run and a bat flip against Texas, then whole rounding 2nd he pops Odor. Ftfy
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Ftfy No thanks, I liked his version better, it doesn't suspend Bautista for the World Series where we would need him.

One of the best hitters in the franchise's history and you think an OF injury is a fitting end because the org has let him play his old position past the expiry date? Come on. meh - it's not fair for you to tell me what I will remember him for Wok. I will remember him as a great hitter. A powerful, patient hitter who in 2010 was must watch TV as this guy comes out of nowhere to hit 54 hrs. In 2011, he was the best hitter in baseball. Then of course I'll never for the flip. After that - I'll remember him as someone who complained about everything and came off as a hot head/jackass who was generally not disliked by the vast majority of baseball (fans & players). I'll also remember his vastly declining defense (especially after hurting his once lethal arm) and the reported stubbornness to move to another position. Finally I'll remember his ludicrous monetary demands and stupid comments about "home discounts". All in all - never one of my favourite players in spite of his success. Here's to hoping there's a final chapter to my memory of one Jose Bautista.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Well if you don't like the guy you don't like the guy. If you think six years of elite batting and like 33 WAR for your favourite team is overshadowed by natural defensive declines and his attitude on the field, then that's what you think.
SAAviour Verified Member Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 So I assume the lack of Bautista news means he's out for the season, it's the only conclusion I can jump to. Maybe he will make it back in time for the Jays vs Rangers ALCS.

I'm not saying it's overshadowed......those are just all things I will "remember" about Jose's career as a blue jay. Its kind of like Machado. Elite, generational talent who I'll always remember as a douche bag.
SAAviour Verified Member Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 I wasnt being really serious...just panicking over worst case scenario. I'd like to hear some news though!
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Blair with some incomplete reporting.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 That should surprise no one Terminator, Blair's basically a hack at this point in time. Like most of the older Jays reporters he's useless.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 TBH I I feel like he should probably just DH through this as soon as the pain is manageable. He shouldn't be in the outfield any more anyway. Pains me to say this, but I actually prefer Edwin's D at 1B to Bautista's D in RF these days.

The difference in going from Smoak to Edwin isn't really much anyways. Having an average OF out there is a pretty big upgrade over Bautista with the way his arm is now.
gbill2004 Verified Member Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Bautista's price tag is coming down. 3 years around $75 million might get it done now.

vic city Verified Member Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 I wonder why know one in the media has brought up Bautista's throwing arm and how he likely has a significant injury?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 I wonder why know one in the media has brought up Bautista's throwing arm and how he likely has a significant injury? He looks fine in the commercial. That's probably all guys like Blair see
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Add the toe and he's pretty much almost untradable even if we could and he would allow us to right now!!! How many Millions has he cost himself this year already on that next deal ??? Think he regrets not taking the deal in hand that he might have had???
