TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Don't worry I'll be at the game tomorrow to go 0-8 I am 2-0. We'll have to go to the same game and see who's power is greater
jackie Verified Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 many managerial blunders in this one. Yet the media who loves Gibbons won't focus on that .
intrigid Verified Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Lol the Jamie and Greg bobbleheads are wearing the same color suits as Jamie and Greg
Praxis Verified Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Zaun highlighting all the errors: Saunders not tagging, Goins not bunting then f***ing up the bunt later on. f***, this just sucks.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Looking forward to kershaw's 20k game this weekend
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 So is this what the team really is? Or should we still have hope? There is definitely hope. The bullpen may not be great but I think the offense can get it going.
KinofChaos Verified Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 How much longer do we go without making some moves? benching goins should be a start, nothing more frustrating watching a team suck at the basics.
jackie Verified Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 when the season started I thought gibbons would be gone 1/3 into the season may happen sooner than that
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 How much longer do we go without making some moves? benching goins should be a start, nothing more frustrating watching a team suck at the basics. Barney should be in the lineup. Gibbons being Gibbons.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 So our bullpen, outside of Osuna, has got to be 0-10 or something like that? Horrible. I know our offense sucks but the pen can't hold off the opposing teams when we're tied or we have a lead. Think it has more to do with the offense not being able to score more than anything. Always seems to be a tie game and the Jays can't score then the pen gives up a run in the 7th and we lose. Bullpen hasn't been good but offence is why the team keeps losing.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Bench goins the f*** down pls Gibby. Motherf***er can't even BUNT.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Another awful loss. 2-7 in 1 run games lol. They're bad every year in one run games. At this point everyone expects it.
43211234 Verified Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Goins is trash. This team is trash. Just a ridiculous season.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Mazara won this game for the Rangers. The homer and the throw. Yeah, but no way should he have been the deciding factor. The Jays' hitters are indefensibly bad right now.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 If the Rangers sweep us, there is a good chance Gibby is finished.

Yeah been a trend, Jays score early then offense disappears, other teams seem to chip away and score late. Been a shitshow so far.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 when the season started I thought gibbons would be gone 1/3 into the season may happen sooner than that There's no way Gibbons gets fired mid-season unless the team is like 20 games under .500 at the all star break. Not gonna happen

You're right, but still, the pen shouldn't be that bad. It's like EVERY time the game is tied, they give up a run instantly. Every single time, and that cost us 10 games or so. The offense shouldn't put them in that situation but hey, it's their job to hold off the other team and they can't do it. Can't win with a weak pen. But yeah obviously the offense suxxx as well.
KinofChaos Verified Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 They're bad every year in one run games. At this point everyone expects it. Is it a mental issue or just bad luck or bad managing? Maybe combination of everything.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 They hadn't missed the playoffs for 22 years in a row....so not that bad? in fact they made the playoffs the first year I became a Rays fan. I said I'd go back to the Jays once AA is gone...but there might be too much AA still here to truly like this team, I am trying though. Seriously though, every Jays fan was positive it was DejaVu and it turned out to be so deflating. That makes me laugh a little. For the record (for the person that did it), reporting the lead mod, is about as futile as Goins hitting
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 I just dont understand how so many great hitters, with such great track records could be so bad for such an extended period of time. Something is seriously wrong here, either that or they have all declined after the height of last year. What we are looking at now is the remains.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 For the record (for the person that did it), reporting the lead mod, is about as futile as Goins hitting Lol that's hilarious
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 ter the game, an argument in the clubhouse took place between Hillenbrand and manager John Gibbons over Hillenbrand allegedly writing defamatory comments about the team on the clubhouse billboard ("This is a sinking ship" and "Play for yourself") after batting practice. This led to a confrontation between Hillenbrand and Gibbons.[3] Hillenbrand has denied writing the third message, which read, "This is a sinking ship." Zaun couldn't confirm that Hillenbrand had written that part of the note, either, but Gibbons said that was what caused him to confront the designated hitter.

It could be that Bautista/Encarnacion are just off to slow starts. Tulo of 2015 was bad and nothing like his previous self, but this year he is worse. I think Martin is/was on PED's. Smoak was overrated last year and he's still bad. Pillar has actually been doing well. I think this team is too passive. Even the pitches to E5 for his last at bat were balls he could have done damage. But he is too passive. It's either walk or double/homer for him.

Not gonna happen Yeah agree. Shapkins inherited this core. He's not going to hire his own guy to manage this group. Once real changes happen (either after the season or mid-season if they are out of it), then we might see a managerial change.
KinofChaos Verified Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 4 guys on the Jays still hitting below .200...ouch.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Am I the only one that enjoyed that a little? Dyson getting a little redemption, Bannister showing that he has a sense of humour. Crowd having the life sucked right out of them. You need to just shut up sometimes.
