Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Except they have a couple of decent starters (price/buccholz) and this stud who is injured called Rodriguez and a very good pen. Toronto will win against most other teams and have a good record, but it's Boston's to lose, they are better rounded and can fill in any holes they have at the deadline whereas Toronto really can't. Bucholz sucks and the rest of their rotation is a bunch of 5th starters.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 People learn nothing from past years. Go look back at every year and look at the standings after 1 week and who ended up winning the divisions. It's rarely the teams that get a good start How many times have we had a good start and faltered by August. These games really mean nothing so just relax and enjoy.
93 Jays Verified Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Dickey error directly led to 2 runs, Bautista's error led to 2 runs, Thole's errors led to a run or two... Just sloppy play all around. Dickey hasn't pitched badly I agree somewhat, but he did not pitch well neither for sure. He set the table by a few walks at the bottom of the order and giving up solid hits to guys like Castillio. Like I said, overall RA is going to have one of these once in a while like everyone else. But he;s more than serviceable and not a scrub by any means
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 There's no downside to this season. They are more than capable of righting the ship and making the playoffs again, however if they fail then they have a lot of tradable pieces that they can convert into prospects at the deadline. I want a sustainable winner, not just a 1 or 2 year window. If they fail this season, then make trades and try to win in 2017 with a more sustainable roster. That's exactly how I see it
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Are you even a Blue Jays fan? I don't know if you could be possibly any more negative. I'm interested in seeing how much rope he gets this time.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Cincinnati Reds could be 4-1 at the end of today. Best team in baseball!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Who are we even talking about at this point? MJ? Yes.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Pedroia is a machine Grant77 disagrees.
Statman Verified Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 It is sickening with a lineup of Donaldson, Tulo, Encarnacion, Bautista and Martin that they can't generate runs without dingers.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Give Barney the hitting title already lol
CultofShatkins Verified Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Starts do matter though. Ask 2012 and 2013. And right now we do look s***. Lots of time though.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Author Posted April 9, 2016 I can't believe Porcello is still pitching.
Nafro Verified Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Worst thing about today? We've made Porcello look adequate. Best thing about today, the games not over.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Well when you're talking about blowing up a team we don't need a 33 year old catcher making all that money. I love Martin its nothing to do with his ability. Blowing up the team talks after 6 games. Wow
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Martin for Thole? I think you have to.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Wow what a bad lineup in 2017 then... 2B Devon Travis 3B Josh Donaldson RF ???? DH ???? 1B Chris Colabello C ???? LF Dalton Pompey? CF Kevin Pillar SS Ryan Goins Reddick for RF, Moss/Santana for DH, Lucroy for C?
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 lol @ thinking Gibby will pinch hit.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 I can't believe Porcello is still pitching. 3.50 xFIP today
