I totally wouldn't mind if we somehow tanked and had to trade Jose and Edwin at the deadline. It would be exciting to get some solid young guys

 

I'd much rather win the f***ing division, ALCS and WS this season. I'll take flags over prospects anytime.

 

What we get for those two at the deadline as rentals (if they waived no trade) would have to be more than our QO picks and who knows if there are offers like that would even be on the table.

Boston's pitching isn't any better

 

Except they have a couple of decent starters (price/buccholz) and this stud who is injured called Rodriguez and a very good pen. Toronto will win against most other teams and have a good record, but it's Boston's to lose, they are better rounded and can fill in any holes they have at the deadline whereas Toronto really can't.

Not the worst thing Jonn has said. Those are the biggest contracts. They won't look good at the end.

There's no downside to this season. They are more than capable of righting the ship and making the playoffs again, however if they fail then they have a lot of tradable pieces that they can convert into prospects at the deadline.

 

I want a sustainable winner, not just a 1 or 2 year window. If they fail this season, then make trades and try to win in 2017 with a more sustainable roster.
