Looked to me like that was the natural motion of Jose's slide, and didn't seem like he was reaching to me. Forsythe just made a s***** throw.

Wish he didn't make a s***** throw, though, because then it'd be a tie game.

Rule's been around forever, I don't think you can tackle someone other than with your feet, I think anything else is labeled as intentional interference. If his hand swiped his leg I'd say they got the review wrong, but bautista grabbed onto his leg and didn't let go lol

There is no explanation. New rule, less like baseball.

That's not a new rule. If I recall, you've never been able to grab a guy's leg as he's making a throw.

Stop being a pussbaby, Bautista f***ed up. He knew it too. Oh well, moving on.

I thought it was sort of allowed and thought it was dumb of them to overturn it. As someone said, the pussy world continues on.

Yeah, because swiping at a guy's foot is noble and sportsmanlike. Jose made the attempt because he didn't think Edwin would be able to beat out the throw. Take any chance at that point that some s*** might stick.

Problem is, Edwin actually beat it out and Forsythe flubbed the throw. Totally backfired.

Players are taught from day one to be aggressive when sliding into second to break up a double play, it's a grown up game and Bautista did nothing that players haven't been doing forever, it's just now this year the ump's have been told to crack down on it. The pussification of the sport continues.

Honestly I don't really know. It was a bit of a dirty play but something that was allowed although frowned upon not too long ago. This is why I don't agree with the call although they did change the rule.

This isn't wwe brah. If he hooked his leg and got a piece with him I'd be on your side.

Welcome to the board btw :)

The worst thing is I don't think it affected his throw. I really don't think that should have been overturned. It seemed really stupid...

I actually thought the contact might have affected the throw. The timing seemed right, and the way Forsythe yanked the throw kind of made sense. I dunno.

lol, using your hands to take out a players legs underneath him when the fielder was nowhere near the base has never been a part of baseball

Exactly. The rule changed and everyone was made aware. Chestbeating about pussification is both irrelevant and hypocritical. If Utley slide-tackled Tulo and put him on the shelf you bet this board would complain endlessly about not having rules to protect the infielders. "That's how we always did it" is not even an imitation of an excuse. Not to mention that actual grabbing has never been allowed.
