intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 I'm genuinely shocked that anyone believed otherwise re: Sanchez and the pen. It's been a constant undercurrent all year for a reason.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 OUT: Drew Hutchison (AAA) - to PIT Drew Storen - to SEA Jesse Chavez - to LAD Guadalupe Chavez (A) - to HOU Hansel Rodriguez (A) - to SD Good thing we didn't have a Drew Chavez.. he'd be gone for sure
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 They made a great move for Pearce. They needed pitching but they shouldn't be jealous. Apparently Ramirez would be their best prospect? I'm not too familiar with prospects outside of the Bluejays organization, is this true? Sounds pretty ridiculous that Ramirez is that legit and we got him for hutch
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 s***** news. This added with Tulo basically breaking his thumb and Donaldson being scratched tonight...crappy few days
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Stressed about the Donaldson injury. Hopefully he's fine and just needs a day
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Jays are getting Reese McGuire from the Pirates too
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 I don't like that fact that we have 0 infielders on the bench for today's game.

EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Tulo injury sucks even more with JD struggling with his legs.

Both are hit tool oriented guys with minimal power, but with McGuire being also a decent rated defensive catcher, he becomes Martin's replacement down the line.

Like I've stated previously, I don't know a whole lot about prospects. Where would these guys rank in the Jays system now?

Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Both prospects would now be in the mix for our top five, no?
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 I thought Pentecost was martins replacement down the line I don't think Pentecost is a catcher long term. Probably has to move to 2B eventually and hope the bat carries him.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 I thought Pentecost was martins replacement down the line I think he's had injuries and will probably move positions no?
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Atkins looks like he hasn't slept in a week.
jerb Verified Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Cam Lewis @cooom Not only are the Jays a much better team right now than they were a week ago, their farm system is also somehow stronger. Very good stuff.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Lets look at the 25 man roster now for clarity: RF Bautista 3B Donaldson DH Encarnacion LF Saunders SS Tulowitski C Martin 1B Smoak CF Pillar 2B Travis C Thole INF Barney UTL Goins OF Upton SP Stroman SP Estrada SP Happ SP Dickey SP Liariano RHP Feldman RHP Shultz RHP Biagini LHP Cecil RHP Benoit RHP Grilli RHP Sanchez RHP Osuna By my count that's 26, what do I have wrong? Also where do we have Liariano stashed? As the 6th starter until Sanchez goes in the pen? He pitched yesterday so he can go Saturday

When Carrera comes back they may take him over Goins depending on the health of the infield. I guess they only need to make it one month until September and then they can both of them and Shulz and whoever else they want. Carrera might make more sense than Goins in the playoffs anyway. He can be used along with Upton to replace the corner OF defense and he's also a better pinch runner and pinch hitter.

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 JD not in the line up tonight. Is he ok?
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 JD not in the line up tonight. Is he ok? Resting to try and get rid of the tight hammy once and for all
candymartinez Verified Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Sanchez to the bullpen is just AWFUL. Really? This was their plan all season? If for some reason they think they can prevent injuries by limiting innings why didn't they skip starts? Piggy back with Hutch? Start his season in June? Anything else would be better. Taking their best starter out of the rotation for the end of the season and playoffs is beyond dumb. Him getting hurt early next year would be s***** for him and the Jays in 2017 but would be better long term for the Jays so they ditch this thinking that they can prevent injuries doing this.
