I definitely bought cheaper tickets this year (500s) because I know I probably wont have extras to sell. It was kinda cool to have the whole strip last year, I was able to sell some for double/triple face and they paid for the games I did go to.

I was only able to get tickets for three games, and they're very optimistic tickets: Game five of the ALCS (assuming we're the WC team), and games six and seven of the WS. I bought game seven first, and went with 200-outfield (same as what I had for last year's playoffs), then the ALCS tickets, which are also in that section. Then when I bought game six of the WS I went with 500 level seats because I realized that I'm really not going to care where I'm sitting if those games are even a thing... Plus I've actually always liked the 500's anyway. But yeah, I definitely agree that I preferred getting the entire strip last year for the same reason you mentioned.

Are the Jays really "Canada's team" like they portray it? I mean obviously this is a broad question and different people root for different teams, etc. but are all regions of Canada really on board with this team? We always see and hear about lots of people from BC go down to see Seattle vs. Jays games but how many are truly seattle fans? Or people in Windsor since Detroit is such a short drive, Joe Siddall talks a lot about how it's split there too 50/50 between Tigers and Jays fans. Or Manitoba bordering Minnesota, now many are Twins fans (lol before the rebuild of course).

I don't buy that people so many thousands of KMs away have as much of an attachment to a team as a closer one just because one is Canadian and one isn't... or am I wrong?

I'm in BC and could career less about the Mariners. 100% Jays fan born and raised.

My oldest child is as well, along with every player on his baseball teams, no one wants to be called the Mariners when it is time to choose a team name.

non Jays fans around here are Yankees and Red Sox fan and they are the worst! I doubt they could name 9 players in the team, and half would start with Jeter then Arod.

Huh? Did you watch the games in Seattle?

No yeah I know that but regardless how many M's fans are from the BC area? Obviously when we start winning everyone jumps on the bandwagon, but I'm saying naturally, or at least a couple of years ago

There are a fair number of Boston fans on the east coast but the Jays are clearly the most popular.

I know an awful lot of Tigers fans from Southern Ontario, but the majority of them grew up before 1977 and most of their kids have converted to the Jays. I don't think it's a matter of proximity for the most part.

In my opinion, McGuire would benefit from a full year in Buffalo. He could be a future starting catcher if we give him time to develop the bat.

A slap hitting catcher with absolutely no power and some speed (we know that skill will have a short time limit for his position). He's basically a second chance at A.J. Jimenez before he got injured. I'm not sure how much time I'd want to invest in trying to make him a starter, especially if he has an MLB-level defensive skill set at a position of need next year.

Did anyone else buy playoff tickets without really thinking about the cost and then get all startled when they saw their credit card balance?

Bought one game per round, have a lot going on during October. Plus there was no way I was buying the Wild Card game at the time the flex pack press sale went on, that in my eyes was a bet against the Jays winning the division.

He looks like a Fransico Cervelli

This was probably true 30 years ago but now with every game in Canada being broadcasted Nationally on TV its easy to see why there are so many Jays fans.

The Jays fans at the twins games are from all over the prairies I'm from Saskatchewan and we met lots of jays fans from all 3 prairie provinces on past trips when we have gone to games in Minnesota. Passion for the Blue Jays and MLB makes a 12 hour car ride more than worth it.

These no doubt here in Lethbridge AB, the majority of fans are Jays fans. I see hats and gear everywhere.

There's still Red Sox and Yankees stuff too, but it's greatly outnumbered

Do you think the Jays can make it to the first wildcard? Im pretty sure they will make it to the wildcard, but Im not sure if we are gonna clinch first or second wildcard

Thats not true. There are way more Jays fans in Manitoba than Twins fans.

For the Twins series. There are Jays fans that travel from all over, smaller Minnesota towns, Manitoba, Iowa, Wisconsin, Saskatchewan, North Dakota.

I just hope if we host the wild card its a f***ing nice night so the roof can be open.

The most important homerun in the last 20 years happened while the roof was closed. I'd be just fine with it.

Random stupid question but hey at least I didn't make a topic...

Was at the game today talked with someone people sitting around me...

How much would you personally be okay with spending to see GAME 7 of the World Series ( Jays of course )....the common number was $2,000 around the group of 8-10...by the way I am not saying what it WOULD cost just what could you swing and be okay with it

That price is absurd. Depends where you were seated.

This is a dumbest post of all time candidate.

we were talking about within 10-15 rows of 3rd or 1st base line...I couldn't justify $2,000 unless food and drinks were included lol

I'd rather watch with friends, lol.

If it were Jays vs Cubs I would likely spend 25% higher than I would if it wasn't. I also have playoff tickets so if the Jays made it that far I likely would have made enough money on my other tickets to justify paying 2 or 3K to see that game.

lol

I honestly said... WTF? Is he looking for talk, yet there's no talk. Of f***ing Course, bruh!!!

My post stemmed from a thread I saw on reddit where these closet Vancoverans came out saying that they're die hard M's fans so I was genuinely curious lol

Besides this is a genuine question, lets not act like Vancouver or Montreal like Toronto a lot, I could imagine a lot of people growing up going to road trips to safeco. This also smells a lot like the fans that scream USA USA when their teams are winning just because they are an american team... are the Jays like that for Canadians? Just playing devil's advocate

Also very board out of my mind because of my current assignemnt

Edit: Also for the USA comparison I'm talking about our casuals -- not the die hard fans growing up watching Jays fans, the ones that became fans during last years playoff push

No one cares, what you'd make... if you sold that seat, I'd be disappointed, selling seats in general, you're just as bad as scalpers. That goes for all of you, not just just this sieve.
