Would it really be that hard for the baseball world to talk about pitcher durability in terms of Total Pitches Thrown rather than IP? It's just so antiquated and inaccurate.

Pitches thrown is better than IP.

Although I'd like to see a system where you also include types of pitches, stressful innings (hard to quantify though), as well as a tracking of bullpen throws.

And Stroman barely threw any last year. This sounds like it's more of a bullpen desperation move than anything.

Stroman could throw during rehab. Just because he wasnt pitching in games doesnt mean he didnt keep his arm strength up.

Warm ups and length of innings would be good tracks.

Agreed, although effort level and mechanics likely far exceed #pitches or #IP for injury risk.

Edit - with Sanchez for the Jays it was never about #IP, but how he feels, rebounds, results. Hence the long meeting the other day. Likely another one after next start.

Or each persons physiology. I have "loose" joints and am more prone to joint issues.

Well maybe they do use that system.

Maybe BTS can run another one and see if he gets different results.

My model showed that being of Mormon religion is definately correlated with Health and future Cy youngs.

Devon Travis has reached 4 WAR now in just 114 career games. Yes, the projections(both offensive and defensive) think he isn't as good as his career numbers suggest but he's put up franchise cornerstone numbers so far, you can't take that away from him.

With Travis and Donaldson even if Bautista and Encarnacion leave I still think we can compete for playoffs next year. Specially if we can hold on to Saunders and find a good DH

We should have enough flexibility to sign Edwin, our rotation is dirt cheap

People make way too much of the Jays impending FA losses. Travis, Donaldson, Pillar, Tulowitzki and Martin are a very good position player core. You can fill the other positions around them with players that don't break the bank and still be a competitive team overall.

The Red Sox are in a better position than us but i still don't see how the Jays won't atleast be only a couple of games behind them and a strong WC contender.

I think you qualify all 3 and hope one of them decided not to pursue FA. I can see Bautista accepting if he continues to struggle

Won't happen. Joey is old and wants at least a few years of security from a deal longer than a year.

watch no one want him for multiple years but he ends up signing a 2 year deal with...Minny out of all teams

Bolsinger back to AAA, with Liriano joining the roster.

That's rough for Bolsinger, his highlight as a Blue Jays thus far has been getting interviewed by Barry Davis.
