AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Not sure if you've ever had the misfortune of listening to a Halladay interview, but the guy says 'you know' about 50 times every 5 minutes. It's absurd. He should get some public speaking help.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Per capita please. As you wish. Although i thought robots knew state and provincial population numbers and could do the math on their own

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Really centralized to the Lethbridge area I think. I just know of a few communities that are pretty Mormon heavy. I live in Lethbridge and you're bang on. There still towns around here that don't have a single liquor store. When the area was settled back in the 1800's it was largely by Mormons coming north from Utah. Most of the towns around here are named for Mormons. I will say tho, when they build a temple, they build really nice looking buildings.

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 LOL, that is absolutely not true, all regions have some communities with disproportionately large mormon presences but not more members, only state/province who has more Mormons than Utah is potentially California. Relatively*. According to Hurls' the map I really wasn't wrong. Obviously Alberta isn't Utah, but it looks to be Canada's heaviest Mormon population.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Why? I can't stand when people try to make a scientific argument with yahoo answers or wikipedia. It's even worse when said sources are written by someone with the IQ of a chimp. Dude, that Yahoo Answers reply was CLEARLY trolling and you swallowed that f***ing bait.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 uhhhh... no. There are a lot more than 1 million mexicans running around. Check out the other map posted above. Yeah my bad. I didn't word that very well. Regardless, I was unaware that there's a lot of Mormon's in Mexico.
nonamejays Verified Member Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Mitt Romney's family and a lot of other mormon families fled persecution to Mexico. They wanted to continue to have polygamy and it was outlawed in the US. As someone from Calgary, I have known about 30 mormons in my life, including two of my former best friends. Nothing wrong with them as people, just some messed up beliefs.
Slugger Verified Member Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Halladay is no longer a practicing Mormon, but goddamn I wish he'd stay off twitter. It's warping my view of the perfect human that doubled as a father figure. Why the hell would he even tweet something so dumb? Right or wrong, keep your nose out of it. Also, insinuating that steroids alone kept Clemens in the league as if without steroids he would've been a AAAA player rather than someone who would've just had a great career instead of a HoF one shows me someone who has never taken them.
AncientDiety Verified Member Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 I love Halladay, but he should STFU.

Slugger Verified Member Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 LOL... he said this, f*** off??? He said "you're not good enough to compete fairly". I'm pretty sure a clean Clemens is still a pretty good pitcher.

If any reason Clemens, took roids it was to heal quicker, I see no advantage other than that. As for the quote, you're assuming way too much. Unless, "The Doc" is mildly retarded, which I doubt.

They allow you to heal faster so you can train harder and more frequently giving you quicker results.

Slugger Verified Member Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Right, with a pitcher, it just means you're all good every 5 days. Exactly. So, I guess Clemens career would've ended in '97 instead. My point is that he was still a monster prior.

DerangedIdoit Verified Member Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 (edited) Halladay is talking about when the culprit actually started taking steroids. When you decide you need to take steroids and act on it you're over, plain and simple. Second who knows how long he was actually taking roids. His JAWS is completely compromised. To get into the hall of fame you need a long and storied career. When most of it can be called into question sorry bud it's up to our conscience. As well doesn't the hall of fame say you have to have strong character and pretty much be a role model or along the lines of that? The Committee has to change that and give Ty Cobb a VIP room before any of this happens, Edited January 19, 2016 by DerangedIdoit
