AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Cubs scare the s*** out of me.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 A cubs jays world series is virtually going to Canada vs US
Molitor Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Great, so if we end up beating the Royals, we either get: -Endless talk about the Cubs World Series drought and references to Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox and the prophecy -Endless talk about the Dickey/Syndergaard-D'Arnaud trade Just gotta win and make whoever it is irrelevant!
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Cubs scare the s*** out of me. Cubs are scary with Soler hitting. They already have Rizzo and Bryant and Schwarber, and Soler gives them four monster bats, plus secondary guys like Fowler, Montero, and Russell. Also Lester and Arrieta 5 times in a 7-game series. Scary.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I'm rooting for the Cubs, but I think the Mets take it.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 trouba is taking over cubs so scary, mets so scary, royals so scary
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 If the Jays advance I want to face the Cubs. I don't think I can stand facing Syndergaard and rehashing that s*** trade for 2 weeks.

It will be extra bad because that will probably be the first time Joe Buck is informed that the trade took place, so he'll be talking about it like it just happened and also more mindless jabber to cover the fact that he doesn't know anything about baseball.

I'm sure Joe Buck will just find some tangential way to ejaculate all over the Cardinals despite them not being involved.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Mets in 7. I think both are nightmare match ups for us but I feel slightly better about the Cubs.

If the Cubs lose, it will be because the Cardinals wore them out. If the Cubs win, it will be because they overcame the greatest team in baseball and rode that momentum to the finish.

Laika Community Moderator Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Imagine a few years ago what you would think if someone told you that the Mets/Cubs/Jays/Royals would be the final 4 teams standing in 2015. Crazy. In 2012 these four teams finished a combined 88! games back in their divisions.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Russell is out for the NLCS fyi. Well that sucks.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 The Cubs are so deadly. I really like both teams, but I'd rather face the Mets.
TilsonBritoFan Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 A Cubs/Jays World Series would be unbelievable.

BTS Community Moderator Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I think the Mets will win in 7 and feast on the Cubs bullpen in the process. Really? Rondon, Strop, Grimm, and Wood is a pretty acceptable late-inning combo. I don't think it's really worse than any remaining groups.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I think it's awesome that Doc Brown wants to throw out the first pitch if the Cubs make the World Series.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Russell is out for the NLCS fyi. Should give Baez an opportunity to show what he can do....might be a more potent bat than Russell....

reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Yeah I'm still in the Jays are much better than both teams category, hoping for Cubs/Jays, that would be wild.
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 The Cubs swept the Mets twice this year, 7-0 head to head record (4 at home, 3 on the road). It's hard to imagine Mets taking 4 of 7, especially considering how good they look right now but this is the postseason.
