I don't think so, why?

It was only his 2nd start since returning from missing last season due TJS.

His first start he only pitched 3 innings

Ahh... thanks, Cheers!

Joey Gallo like

Gallo's minor league numbers are probably the closest I can see to Orelvis.

Gallo at age 20 spent half the season in A+ where he dominated, then the second half in aa... his aa numbers were very similar to Orelvis's.

Gallo .250 .370 .590 approximate slash line in minors. Assuming Orelvis picks it up a bit with the walks as he learns the high minors that's probably where he ends up.

Moreno's season slash line is now .347/.407/.459. wRC+ up to 138. SwStr% is a mere 6.1.

A Joey Gallo SS? Lol that's ok I guess

But Orelvis is only 20 in AA so some of the swing and miss could disappear as he becomes more age appropriate for his level right? Steamer doesn't even think he'd K in the big leagues at the same clip he is K'ing at now in AA.

Yeah, he needs a summer with the high performance team in Dunedin at the complex to fix that swing and miss.

He'll strike out >40% in the majors in his current form and probably break his spirit.

Sleeping on Tiedemann and Zulu big time. Tiedemann should probably be borderline top 50. And Zulu should sneak into back half off 100.

Yes, age level has to be in consideration.

Yeah and there are already signs of adjustment.

April: 24 Ks in 17 games

May: 17 Ks in 16 games

One K per game is like, nothing in this year of our Lord two thousand and twenty two

Orelvis is on the Pipeline free game of the week right now if anyone is interested

1st AB K, 3 pitches, haven't seen yet

2nd AB, 1B, fastball away foul, slider in and down ball, fastball up ball, changeup or fastball outer 3rd ripped to LF on a line for a single

3rd AB, BB, fastball up ball, fastball up and away called strike (probably a ball), slider outter 3rd fouled back, fastball up ball, slider outside corner ball great take, slider foul rocket down the line, fastball in ball....just an amazing AB

Some great numbers in Buffalo.

What can anyone tell me about Adrian Hernandez other than his minor league career so far has been great and he is listed as 5'8". And he is from the same Mexican hometown as another great BJ closer from the past that got ran out of MLB.

I think about 60% changeup and 40% fastball. Fastball in the low 90s, changeup suppose to be the best in the organization and one of the best in baseball

Fangraphs had a brief writeup on him recently but I can't find it. They don't link it on his player page but LetTheBallFly sums it up. Devastating changeup that he throws a lot.

The pedestrian FB and elite changeup combo worked pretty well for Estrada and Shaun Marcum prior to him.

It definitely plays up better as a SP imo. As a RP, it's tougher. Probably a better more extreme version of Richards if everything works out

It kind of depends on the changeup. Some that are more like breaking pitches would play fine as RP.

Sem Robberse went 7 innings, 0ER, 2H, 0BB, 4k tonight for Vancouver. Not a ton of strikeouts but he continues to get results.

Interesting dude. 6th youngest guy in high A. Would be 3rd youngest at double A and was apparently considered for promotion when Kloff was sent up. He also came from a country where there isn’t a ton of pro baseball players from there (Netherlands) so you wouldn’t expect him to be this polished so soon.

If he had countryman Bert Blyleven’s curve....

Huh, there's plenty of ball players from the Netherlands? It's nice to see Roberse continue to thrive though.

Correction. There are plenty of honkbal players in the Netherlands.

Anyone know how long Fitz Stadler is out for? I see he's on the 60 day IL

Was hoping to see how he progressed at AAA this year, maybe he'd be able to bring that BB/9 down some.

6'9" towering pitchers who (reportedly) throw 100+ don't grow on trees

It was my impression that there are quite a few from the Dutch colonies in the new world but not from the actual Netherlands itself. Apologies if that’s wrong.

I’m not saying people from the Netherlands Antilles aren’t ‘really Dutch’ more that I presume the baseball dev environment is different there. I definitely could have worded it better.
