What’s it about him? He has a weird delivery? Too much effort in his delivery? Only has two pitches or one and half pitches?

One great pitch, constantly injured, spotty command, old for his level. Basically Julian Merryweather with fewer pitches. This kid has every single hallmark of a future reliever. It could take at least two full years just to build him up to a starter's workload anyways. I would love to hear what the front office has planned for him though.

Zulueta and Tiedemann might be promoted to A+ Vancouver

Good. Manoahs quick rise makes me think they might try to be more aggressive with pitching prospects. Not all of them will burst out on the scene the same. But I don’t think some of these guys need to spend full seasons in one place especially when they are dominating.

I think it was just waiting until it warmed up a bit in Vancouver before moving these guys up there.

Ummmmmmmmm WTF!!! who is this MF????????? 8ks through 3ip. Hes throwing 100 with great spin and a filthy slider that got 6 whiffs on 8 swings.

He was considered a gem draft pick in 2020. He's probably one of those guys with a big uptick in stuff and results after training at our performance centre.

Never heard of him before now. Reading up on him now, he had TJ last year after seeing a velo jump and is now getting back into games. Gahd damn, can we add him to the fap group of Tiedemann and Yosver?

I think so man! Hitting 100 with the FB and K'ing the world is sufficient for me to jump on the bandwagon.

Frasso, Santos and Scott combined to strike out 24 batters today for Dunedin.

Holy s***.

Dahian Santos is also now on my radar. Struck out 10 in 4 innings, and he was a strike out machine last year too. Only 19 and pitched a bit in Dunedin last year as well, so I'd imagine it won't take too many more outings like that to get bumped up to Vancouver.

Santos's slider today was at a insane 89% whiff rate. 16 whiffs on 18 swings. Absurd. Seems like he might be some slider specialist, he threw it 60% of the time in this game.

So exciting to have pitching prospects to finally get excited about. Its been Manoah and not much else for this regime. Not counting Pearson cause that mf is made of glass.

Sergio Santos was the same thing. Didn’t end well

Dahian Santos has a decent FB and apparently a chance for a third pitch too

I still remember that opening day one year where Farrell had him warm up for like 6 or 7 innings in extras before finally using him.

Oh yeah? How's his FB? I thought I read somewhere it was low 90s.

Frasso dominates in return from surgery (May 14)

Nick Frasso, the Blue Jays’ fourth-round pick in the 2020 MLB Draft, made his ’22 debut Saturday with Single-A Dunedin. Frasso underwent surgery last summer to repair his right UCL with an internal brace, which is a less invasive form of Tommy John surgery with a shorter recovery time.

Frasso's debut was fantastic, with eight strikeouts over three innings of shutout ball. Most encouraging was Frasso’s fastball velocity, which averaged 97.5 mph but reached as high as 100.3. With 12 whiffs on 19 fastballs and six whiffs on eight sliders, Frasso missed bats at an elite rate. His workload will be monitored as he builds back up, but this was a very encouraging first step for the 23-year-old. -- Keegan Matheson

I haven’t been this excited about this amount of pitching prospects in system in forever.

I advise caution. They’ll only break your heart. TINSTAAPP

Oh for sure, but the sheer number is encouraging.

For sure. Zalueta and Tiedeman both look extremely impressive so far, Robberse pretty decent also and Frasso just put the org on notice that he wants a bigger challenge

I'm less enthused by Robberse than others. I feel his stuff is kind of mediocre and so are the results.

Robberse might surprise I think. IÂ’ve only seen cut ups of course but he looks like the kind of dude who gets a velo bump and is suddenly a real guy. Athletic dude, has a few pitches, pretty good command, but doesnÂ’t blow anyone away. Ceiling as a back end starter or 6th starter who suddenly becomes much more if he develops more velo.

When the Cleveland guys came over, I thought our system would be full of this type because itÂ’s kind of the Cleveland prototype. We are more like Cleveland on the international side as we seem to be really into hit tool guys.

Robberse was garnering a fair bit of attention heading into this season, some sites had predicted he would be the club's top starting prospect as soon as this season as he had a ton of remaining projection. Of course Tiedemann has blown by Robberse with the fast start but Robberse still could turn into a nice starter. The club raves about his intangibles, and the organization looks to be able to help coax extra velocity out of their young pitchers given the full on embrace of velocity programs and other advances in training techniques. Robberse was reportedly sitting 93-95 to end 2021 so it's not like his stuff is terrible by any means.

I've noticed that Kloffenstein has somewhat turned things around in his last few starts.

After his s*** last season, and rough start this season I'd kind of written him off, but he's still just 21 in A+ and his K/9 is up, BB/9 is down and his xFIP has improved to a respectable 3.81

Nothing eye popping, but improvement is nice to see.

Mostly low 90s, but has reached a little higher on occasion. Probably some projection still on it. Might end up being the 93-95 range hopefully

Orelvis Martinez is on a 58 home run pace at AA.

1.061 OPS in May so far with a 22% K-rate. Looks like he’s adjusted well.

Indeed.

.300/.391/.625 slash line and a 181 wRC+ in May. 4 HRs in 46 PA's. Awesome stuff from a 20 year old.
