KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I think they've gotta be a bit careful with the 40 man roster at this point, they've added Smith Jr. and Alford already (neither of whom I assume they wanted to add quite this early). Smith is fairly inconsequential. He's basically the new Harold Ramirez and the later could be DFA'd at any time. Ceciliani could also be kicked to the curb (presumably when Pompey reaches the allowable limit on a rehab assignment). Alford does get in the way but he might be a candidate for a transfer to the 60 day DL. It's definitely tight but it's not like Leblejijian is all that young or all that important. They're probably not going to get a whole more out of him than whatever he can offer now.
Clutchlings Verified Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 So here is a list of guys I like to follow in the minnors (when they are not injured). What pitchers should I add to the mix and what players are missing? Vladimir Guerrero Jr Bo Bichette Anthony Alford Danny jannsen Max Pentecost Lourdes Gurriel Conner Greene Sean Reid-Foley Chris Rowley Jordan Romano T.J. Zeuch Justin Maese Patrick Murphy

Alford wasn't bad, he would have to be added in the offseason anyways so it's quite likely he was coming up at some point. The unfortunate injury is going to screw with his service time and likely end up making him a Super 2 unless they option him next year for a long time.

Yeah, the off season was a given, but if he didn't have to be added this year, we'd have another spot to play with to keep bringing Bolsinger types up... Unless he ends up on the 60 day, which I hope not... I'd really like to see him just steal the job from Carrera

He was likely about to be sent back down when he got hurt but Carrera's ongoing garbage D and average bat probably would have played himself out of the lineup before too long

And they can just DFA Coghlan to make room for Leblejian.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2017 Author Posted June 14, 2017 Oh, my bad... Been a busy year, haven't been following as closely as I'd like. Does the Deadpool counter go down to 36 now?
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Interesting they are stretching out Sparkman. He had a nice start for the Fisher Cats 5IP 2H 1BB 5K.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Does the Deadpool counter go down to 36 now? Deadpool is never wrong, he might be misinformed, or confused, but he is never wrong! Edit: Or drunk.

LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Anyone else noticed he hit a double which appears to be foul and also did not make it to 3rd base? lol
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Those dots just represent the first point of contact of the ball on(or off) the field, not where the ball needed up. A ball that first hits foul can still go back inside the bag at 3Rd (or 1st) and be ruled fair. Though that doesn't explain the other mark down the left field line that also looks really foul.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 I'm guessing a dropped ball. If you drop a ball in foul territory - it's a foul ball, not a double.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 I'd like to see him get some regular at bats...but I guess he won't with Zeke hitting so well.

vilifyingforce Verified Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 If you drop a ball in foul territory - it's a foul ball, not a double. Unless they dove at in Zeke-ian fashion and pushed the ball foul despite the ball starting off as a fair ball.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 If you drop a ball in foul territory - it's a foul ball, not a double. Maybe it hit his glove in fair, bounced off, and landed foul?
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Glenn Sparkman at double A for rehab. He's close to getting the next shot in the bullpen (because he's a rule 5 pick) though for some reason he's been starting.

Well we aren't exactly swimming in starting pitching depth, so probably a good idea to keep him stretched out in case he's needed for a spot start for some reason.
