Starting to get really intrigued by Jansen especially if the reports about his defence are true.

 

Me too. I thought he was much older but he's only 21, 3 yrs younger than Pentecost. Seems like he's been around longer.

Any word on why Pentecost has still only caught like 1.5 games?

 

He caught 9 innings on Friday, didn't play yesterday and 1st tonight. Not sure why he isn't catching more but I think his bat could play at 1st...guy also has some speed..almost beat out a routine grounder to short. I'm surprised they're keeping both him and Jansen in Dunedin.

DJ Davis is a good release candidate at this point. I'd take him in the first round in a MiLB releases pool.

Who Pentecost, no man? They're easing him back into catching. As Hurl's said it's better to keep him down as they do this so he doesn't get claimed in the Rule 5 draft, if he's left unprotected.

I'm all for trying him back at C but a move to 1B was mentioned and given that he's got some wheels I figured OF might make sense IF he moved positions.

That would come later, there's even talk of 2nd base. He's very athletic, but injury prone.

Showing my ignorance here but besides the shoulder injury, what are the other injuries?

If just the shoulder, I'm not sure I would classify him as injury prone. I know it seems that way due to the long long layoff and the precautions taken.

To be fair when it comes to young players I would bet money on it that King could dig up quite a bit about them. He's been on point this year!
