Bring Bichette, Bradley and Vladdy up to A+ already!

Hype train full steam ahead I guess.

But maybe let the kids see the league for more than a month before we declare them too good for it.

BradleY is slightly older than average for the league so his case could be made earlier than Bo and Vlad

Would love to see Jones up before i leave Dunedin on May 7 but I doubt that will happen. I will, however, spend a few days in Lansing when I get home.

You have to assume the Jays will try to move Jones quickly because his age. Vlad and Bo will stick around for atleast the first half of Lansing's season. If Vlad can get up to Dunedin this year and start in Double-A next season his prediction of debuting as a teenager could be a reality. Obviously has to continue to hit but he's such an exciting prospect.

Yeah for sure. Later round pick who is shredding younger players, no reason not to get a bit aggressive with Jones if he continues to rake.

BA named Contreras as one of their top 20 DSL prospects.

Mc Gregory Contreras, of, Blue Jays

Age: 18. B-T: R-R. Ht.: 6-1. Wt.: 170. Signed: Dominican Republic, 2015.

The Blue Jays are elated with Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who signed for $3.9 million in 2015 and has already become their No. 1 prospect and the No. 20 prospect in baseball. By signing Guerrero, the Blue Jays exceeded their 2015-16 bonus pool by 14.86 percent, enough to go into a one-year penalty but just under the 15 percent overage mark that would have set them into two years of penalties. That left the Blue Jays to fill out the rest of their signing class with players for $10,000 or less, since those are all exempt from the bonus pools. One of those $10,000 signings was Contreras, who has quickly developed into a promising sleeper with good tools and an encouraging performance in his DSL debut last year. Contreras does a bit of everything. He has an athletic, projectable body with 55 speed and an average arm in center field. There is some swing-and-miss in his game, but it isn’t excessive and he has a very patient approach, working deep counts and drawing plenty of walks. Contreras isn’t a big power threat, but he’s more than just a line-drive, singles hitter, driving the ball well with a chance to develop average power given his physical projection.

Lane Thomas is quietly having a strong bounce-back season in Dunedin after struggling in Lansing last year. He's 2 for 3 with his 4th triple of the season tonight and had an .836 OPS going into today's game.

Pentecost is having a pretty good year. If he was putting these numbers up when he was 22 I'd be a lot more excited but you never know.

Something has to be decided about him and catching. Their plan for him was to start catching this year, he caught like 5 innings and then he's back to 1b/DH again since.

Is it a case that Jansen is ripping it up so much that they want him to keep catching? If that's the case then maybe they should send Jansen up to AA and McGuire up to AAA and then let Pentecost catch in Dunedin regularly.

He either needs to catch more or they have to move on and just forget him catching. Stalling him at Dunedin as anything other than a catcher is a waste of time. If he can be a 1b, send him up to AA as the 1b and be done with the catching carousel.

Looks like Vlad Jr was pinch hit for. Hopefully nothing serious.

Got thrown out going to home...was of to inf to c to 3B...not sure if he got in a pickle cause something tightened up or if he twisted something. He has been amazing so far, so hopefully it was just a take the rest of the night off and rest whatever it was

I just noticed we had a 19-year old SS in Advanced A Kevin Vicuna. I assume he's just filling in? He's off to a hot start.

Vicuna was a top IFA signee three years ago. Like Gudino he was a skinny defense-oriented SS who really struggled to hit after turning pro (needed to add a lot of strength). I remember hearing that he was looking a lot better at the start of spring camp, so its definitely intriguing that they brought him right up to Dunedin straight from extended. He got called up when they traded Kelly to Philly which pushed Cardenas to AA.

If this hitting prowess is for real then he is definitely a real prospect as a 19 year old SS in High A.

GCL to Dunedin is an absurd jump, lol. It has to be just for an injury fill in, no?

No. If it was just an injury fill-in, then why not promote Gudino from Lansing who isn't even getting to play much SS because of Bichette?

Like i said, given the preseason talk about Vicuna being one of the surprises of camp, my guess is that he's literally played himself into that call-up. It doesn't make sense to randomly throw a kid up multiple levels for shits and giggles.

Because, he's a capable shortstop who is already in Dunedin with extended? It's not complicated.

Some observations fro the game tonight in Dunedin.

T.J was better than his line shows. His fastball was in the low 90's topping out at 94 but his slider was electric...a lot of swings and misses. Even tho he was charged with 2 runs, he should have pitched a shoutout. With 2 runners on in the 6th, Kelly misplayed a line drive which could have got him out of the inning. Eller allowed the second runner to score.

Danny Jansen continues to impress...towering HR to left and a great job of handling T.J.'s slider...blocks everything.

Vicuna doesn't look out of place at SS, especially with the glove but I think he is just place-setting until Gurriel is healthy.

Any word on why Pentecost has still only caught like 1.5 games?

Starting to get really intrigued by Jansen especially if the reports about his defence are true.
