L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Marcus Stroman gives the Jays a legitimate chance at the World Series. It's funny to think that his injury may have been a blessing in disguise (i.e. David Price).
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Great post Baubau!, these are the kind of reads I look forward too while dropping a deuce.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 The only thing missing for Stroman is a proper barber.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 If he had a full season in 2015, he would be reaching his innings limit, right?
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 If he had a full season in 2015, he would be reaching his innings limit, right? If you buy into the +20% pitching load per season thing (which I personally don't) he'd have an innings limit of around 160, so in that scenario, possibly.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 didn't AA say they're done with pitching limits?
TBJ12 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 If he had a full season in 2015, he would be reaching his innings limit, right? I read earlier in the season that the Jays don't have inning limits on any pitcher.
baubau Verified Member Posted September 25, 2015 Author Posted September 25, 2015 I read earlier in the season that the Jays don't have inning limits on any pitcher. I thought they had a number for Osuna? More so due to him returning from TJS then anything.
TBJ12 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 I thought they had a number for Osuna? More so due to him returning from TJS then anything. I haven't seen anything regarding a pitch limit on Osuna. He's pitching out of the pen and returned from TJS last season. I don't see any reason for the Jays to put an innings limit on him.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 If Osuna is a starter next year, will he have a limit?
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Incredible at the transformation of the starting pitching staff: At the start of the year: no Ace Buehlre - an ok #2/3 considered the "ace" Dickey - a bad #3 Hutchison - an ok #3, hopefully? Estrada - hope he sticks at #5 Sanchez - should be in the pen/minors Now: Price - a good ace Stroman - a good #2 Dickey - a good #3 Buehlre - a good #4 Estrada - a good #5 Hutchison - a good #6 in case someone goes down which the Jays won't even need since there's only 10 games left and in the playoffs a 3-4 man rotation is used

Governator Community Moderator Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Agreed Price's acquisition followed by the return of Stroman has massively improved the rotation and compensated for Hutchison's suckage and I wholeheartedly expected AA to say on Aug. 1st that there was a lot of dialog but really nothing made sense for us. Plus with the possibility of Marcus Stroman returning next month our rotation could get a late season internal upgrade at no cost to us.

Which would have been infuriating with the way Buerhle and Hutch were pitching too, on top of no Stroman guarantee

dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Not to bust anyone's bubble but 10 Ks in 19 innings Well he's taking the Roy Halladay approach I think. Not like he can't K people if he needs one like Sanchez.

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Agreed Price's acquisition followed by the return of Stroman has massively improved the rotation and compensated for Hutchison's suckage I can only imagine this roster's performance over a 162 game season. Elite offense, very good starting pitching and capable relief and defense. Would very likely be the club's first 100 game winning season, maybe even 110 games. Hell, they should already be there just based on the run differential. I know some people wouldn't want the Jays to sign Price to a 7 year contract. The team would be loaded with bad contracts and old players one day. But that day wouldn't be in 2016, 2017 and probably not 2018.

mellowgold Verified Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Sorry if posted already, but here's a pretty good read on Stroman's last start: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-yankees-saw-a-different-marcus-stroman/
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 I've heard a rumour that Marcus Stroman and Bruno Mars are the same person.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Dude - Buehrle was the BOSS in June/July...you're 1 for 2 there my friend. Right you are He only sucked the first 6 weeks or so. It seemed like longer somehow
