intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Are you referring to hyperbaric oxygen therapy? There haven't been enough randomized control trials to support or refute the use of them (on fractures; there is decent evidence for their use in ulcers), however there are lots of anecdotal evidence that they may work. I'm not sure it'd cut healing time in half, but the theory is delivering oxygen at higher pressures will result in more oxygen delivered to the site of injury. I'm no sports rehabilitation doctor, but every injury and every fracture is different and results and healing time will vary. I didn't catch the presses, but from what I read they hope he'll be back in 2-3 weeks. That really doesn't mean much to me. If I was Tulo, I'd do that hyperbaric thing. It's quite safe anyways, so what's the harm Are you a doctor? (not snark; actual question)
vdartanian Verified Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Think he (Tulo) already sleeps in a hyperbaric chamber (at least he used to).

I looked it up and found an article, which states At home, he often sleeps in a hyperbaric chamber, where the rich oxygen atmosphere helps him recover, soothing aches and pains., source - http://www.denverpost.com/rockies/ci_26139000/rockies-troy-tulowitzki-adds-veteran-wisdom-legendary-intensity

vilifyingforce Verified Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I'm talking about his ego and selfish play. Hey everyone, did you know that if you don't like Pillar you are a bandwagon fan in villifyingforce's eyes? I don't like Pillar, therefore I haven't been a Jays fan my whole life. It follows. I don't like Pillar, therefore I didn't suffer through all of Dustin McGowan's 673855289 comeback attempts. It follows. I never said bandwagon. Why are you being so dramatic?
vilifyingforce Verified Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Think he (Tulo) already sleeps in a hyperbaric chamber (at least he used to). Yeah he did in Colorado, but, I think that was more a had to then a wanted to. I know one of the first things I seen from Hawkins after the deal is how excited he was to be back to sea level lol.

EMK19 Verified Member Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Saw clip of him in the dugout yesterday lifting his arms and going over Revere's swing, so at least he feels better enough now to lift his arms without pain, which is a start.
BlueBirdBro Verified Member Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Was it his throwing shoulder or non-throwing shoulder
crmr Verified Member Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Anyone heard anything new on Tulo yet? I miss that presence. He wasn't hitting like Tulo, but who didn't think that every game he was about to get smoking at the plate. Always a threat. Our fill ins are fine but we know their ceiling. Haven't heard anything but the fact he's not on the DL, looked good in the dugout suggests that they're being more cautious than necessary and I suspect if the division looks to slip away you'll see him in there
EMK19 Verified Member Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Was it his throwing shoulder or non-throwing shoulder Non throwing, so his glove hand side, I'd think it will affect his glove range if he has to play through pain.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Players aren't typically put on the DL in Sept because there's no advantage with the roster sizes. Exactly. And you can't replace him with anyone who isn't already there anyway.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 A cracked scapula... yeah... pray4Tulo, I doubt he comes back this season.
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Tulo will hit a home run in his first game back.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 can he take over for Gibby and put Gibby on the DL for his injured brain?
youngtea Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I'm guessing that we will know before the end of the weekend where Tulo stands.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I'm still praying...living in my own naïve bubble of optimism on this one. We are a much better team overall with Tulo @ SS and Goins(or better yet Travis, but that dog ain't gonna hunt - 2015) than we are with Goins and Penny/Barney @ 2B.

Agreed of course Pennington is a perfectly decent player and great to have on the bench. But I want that sweet Tulo/Goins defense back.

Dare to dream.

It's awfully rare for every team to have all their best players at the same time. It's such a long season, guys get banged up. Yankees and Cardinals have been missing lots of guys too. We can't complain. But yeah it would rock to have them all.

Wolf Verified Member Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Blue Jays were a .500 team before the Tulo trade; Blue Jays record since the Tulo injury? 5-4.
Mikeleelop Verified Member Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Blue Jays were a .500 team before the Tulo trade; Blue Jays record since the Tulo injury? 5-4. unfortunately it brings our defence down just enough, plus Pennington Time for JD to bring it back up to MVP level.

Wolf Verified Member Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Blue Jays were a .500 team before the Tulo trade; Blue Jays record since the Tulo injury? 5-4. My bad. They're 4-4 since the Tulo injury. Yeah .500 team.
