Yes, I realize Tulos offence has been slumping. But that's just it: slumping. Based on his track record he was due to break out of it, one would think.

Expect them to call up Burns or Diaz to fill the empty spot on the bench with Tulo's injury.

Burns would be all right. Can always use extra speed on the bench.

GET WELL SOON, TULO

From watching the game. I think he's back next week ( Tuesday ) seemed like there was a sigh of relief from Tulo when walking to the dugout.

It was such a strange play Tulo's reaction was a bit slow also.

Well that's all the proof I need. Can't wait!

I wonder if he's been playing with that crack in his shoulder for a while. Would explain his bat speed being so slow. And if he's been saying with it maybe he can come back and play through the pain. Hockey players get shots to help play through pain, I'm sure baseball players do too.

Hindsight....

Pillar...your a great CF,but its Tulo going back on a ball, and he said he has it.Its Tulo!

Pillar didn,t look at Tulo at all.

So what if it drops, and its not like we are afraid whether we will win the series.

Love your hustle Pillar, but always check the situation.

This sucks!

Hope it sucks less on Monday.

A day after seeing this article too.

Yeah, more and more I'm thinking this is the case. I can understand the bruise in the upper shoulder on that play but not the small crack.

Time for Cortisone shots... we all know if cleared to do so Tulo would play through the pain as much as possible. The main issue will be what the consequences/risk of possibly aggravating it while doing so would be in long term.

I'm hoping that Edwin's hand issue isn't another week or two long thing. Losing Tulo and EE in one game would not be good. Having Smoak, Colabello, Goins, Pillar and Pennington rounding out your batting order is not a site for sore eyes.

Edwin may have to force the issue tm, we're already gonna be having Pillar/Goins/Pennington/Thole for tomorrow as bottom four... if anything EE has to be in there for his presence there alone... then the off day on Monday in which he gets a chance to rest it.

I blame AA. If he had kept Reyes this wouldn't have happened. Reyes would have been too lazy to get that fly ball.

I'm not a big Pillar fan either, but this was 100% the center fielders ball. I think they both called for it at the same time or else Tulo just couldn't hear Pillar.

He'll be out for the rest of the regular season, but there's still a chance he's back for the playoffs. This won't do too much damage believe it or not. We have 2 very capable infielders to take over in Pennington and Goins.

Tulo's bat, lets face it, wasn't that great. We'll be fine without him.

Assuming Tulo ends up playing through this injury, I wonder if it'll affect his offence more than his defence, since it's his left shoulder... It's his follow through side in hitting which would definitely affect his swing a lot I'd think... defensively, at least it's not his throwing shoulder so hopefully his throwing at least won't be too affected, although it may limit his range in how he stretches his glove side for ground balls/liners to his sides... Hopefully he'll be able to come back at a level where he could still contribute on both sides of the ball. His presence alone I think will still make a huge difference even if not at full 100%.

Hope Tulo only misses a few games/days. Same with Edwin. Need these two going strong into October.

Realistically I'm thinking few weeks minimum for Tulo, but with Edwin I'm optimistic as this doesn't seem necessarily any worse than the same hand issue from before, which indeed only took a few off days to resolve.

Hope that we will be able to lock down the division a bit early so that we can give some valuable rest for our starters ahead of the ALDS.

And you are 100% right. Anyone who's ever played the middle infield in baseball is taught to go back hard on a pop-up until you're called off by an outfielder. Obviously, Pillar called for the ball and Tulo didn't hear him, no doubt because he was calling for it himself. As they say, s*** happens sometimes. This is unfortunate, but as soon as Pillar called for it, it was his ball, and it's flat out ridiculous to blame him.

Who know how big the fracture is, but my wife fractured her scapula and it was not an easy recovery. 6 weeks in a sling followed by physio. It's not like she had a full range of motion right after 6 weeks, she gradually had to build up her strength and movement. Now hers was a fairly bad case (fractured in 3 places) so let's hope Tulo's is a tiny fracture and there's only one of them, but even then I'm not optimistic about a return this season. Even the fact they already have a media session with him planned makes me fear the worst - wouldn't be surprised to hear him tell us that his season is over. If it was Stroman he would be fully recovered by Wednesday, but Tulo isn't likely to bounce back from this one quickly

I mean, there probably already was, it's Tulo, lol.

Hope it isn't too bad. Might as well give him a break.

With Tulo a jolt like that probably tore 4 things but put 5 back into place

This totally sucks on an otherwise incredible day but I'm going to leave all the speculation crap until the dust settles and we see what Tulo and the Jays actually have to say.

All injuries are brutal, but one this completely avoidable is the worst. Pisses me off.
