The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Is Venditte even available tonight? Seems pointless to delay the demotion though I do think that's likely what happens. I would expect a position player to get called up after Hutch's spot start. Either Montero or an OF. You mean an OFer like Pompey?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 You mean an OFer like Pompey? he's hurt.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 23, 2016 Author Posted April 23, 2016 Is Saunders injured or something? because if not, why the f*** was ezquel carrera not pinch hit for? Gibby is using that as an excuse to rest Tulo and Saunders multiple games not even 3 weeks into the season lol
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Dom Brown was leading the league in homers last time I heard. Maybe he's on a hot streak we could ride for a bit. I think I'd call up Lake first. RH bench bat and he can pinch run as well. I think the Jays face a few LH starters this homestead so you could have Edwin play 1st and give Saunders or Bautista the half day off at DH.
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Bump... Carrera leading off instead of Saunders tonight. This decisions speaks for itself.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 25, 2016 Author Posted April 25, 2016 Bump... Carrera leading off instead of Saunders tonight. This decisions speaks for itself. It does, but can you really blame Gibby. Carrera just had 8? Hits in 3 games.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 It does, but can you really blame Gibby. Carrera just had 8? Hits in 3 games. Yes. Because Zeke is 29 years old and we already know what kind of player he is. This success won't continue. Saunders was pounding the ball when he went down.
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 It does, but can you really blame Gibby. Carrera just had 8? Hits in 3 games. Thank God you have no say in who the next manager is
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 Gibby is the worst bullpen manager in have ever seen.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Gibby didn't pinch hit late in the game for Goins or Barney. I guess with Martin out and Hutch up he only had a 2 man bench so I don't really blame him too much. I don't know what the hell happened with Hutch but if the FO had anything to do with that it was a big f*** up. We played with 23 guys tonight. EDIT: Was just explained to me that MLB won't clear the move til 1 pm tomorrow or something. Ridiculous.

And used 2 long relievers and 4 relives total to get 7 outs (we need some massive upgrades in the pen)
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 And used 2 long relievers and 4 relives total to get 7 outs (we need some massive upgrades in the pen) I mean I don't really mind him using his setup man there. Cecil and Floyd just f***ing sucked.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Not pinch hitting Smoak for Goins is retarded, then again Atrocious roster management by Atkins is what got us here Its time for people to own up. Brett Cecil let this team down....again.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 I mean I don't really mind him using his setup man there. Cecil and Floyd just f***ing sucked. Cecil Tha. Storen would have been passable. Cecil than the long reliever is like wtf lol
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Cecil Tha. Storen would have been passable. Cecil than the long reliever is like wtf lol Floyd is better than a "long reliever". He has been nasty. Gibbons made the right moves, Cecil and Floyd f***ed up hard.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Cecil Tha. Storen would have been passable. Cecil than the long reliever is like wtf lol Floyd is better than a long reliever though. He's probably 4th on the pecking order after Osuna, Storen, Cecil.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Yes. Because Zeke is 29 years old and we already know what kind of player he is. This success won't continue. Saunders was pounding the ball when he went down. Why use an entire career's worth of games when the last two had desirable results?
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 Floyd is better than a "long reliever". He has been nasty. Gibbons made the right moves, Cecil and Floyd f***ed up hard. The way Cecil has pitched this year I would argue using him there was not smart. Needs less high leverage situations until he gets back into form
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I mean I don't really mind him using his setup man there. Cecil and Floyd just f***ing sucked. Cecil got a weak grounder that found a hole s***** pitch to Jackson Then it sure looked to me like he struck out Abreu (who is one of the best hitters in the game) but walked him I didn't think Cecil was especially bad but he was put in a s***** spot.

Yeah I guess that is true. Just was thinking of the results not the process.

It looked like the Sox were relaying signs from 2nd which would make sense given how they seemed to be hitting everything that inning. Thole's sign sequences are pretty bad and even I could tell what was coming.
Praxis Verified Member Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I think Storen has died. He's been used for 2 innings over the last 8 days I think. Meanwhile Thole is our backup catcher.

No issues with the Cecil move, but I definitely would have gone to Storen instead of Floyd. 4 outs vs 3 should never be prohibitive.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Bringing in Venditte was his worst move. He's been horrible with the Jays so far and hasn't shown that he should be anything more than a mop up guy.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Blow this team up. Pete Walker and Gibbons should be fired.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 Sign me up for that. Gibby used to be good at managing a pen and that was pretty much his only real strength. That's out the window this year so let's cut bait

bowld Verified Member Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 Changes are needed, and fast. Fire gibbons to send a message and go from there. This team is s*** right now
