I personally didn't mind him going to Chavez (although Morales who was warming was the ideal candidate to take over), Holt just got a hold of one. My problem is he's exaughsting the s*** out of them. He burned Chavez and Floyd who are our only 2 long men for an inning max each. Then he uses both Storen and Cecil in the same inning (although storen did give up 2 hits in 5 pitches)

Also don't understand him bunting with Carerra on first. Carerra is quick and Pillar can make contact put a hit and run play on

f*** Gibbons. That's all I want to say. His bullpen management has been awful for quite some time.

f*** AA for re-hiring him, and f*** Shapiro for keeping him.

We would've had a real chance in ALCS with an able manager last year.

People say manager doesn't win games, maybe but a bad manager does lose games.

I'm a firm believer that Cecil getting hurt in ALDS really f***ed our chances against KC. Would have been really nice to have Cecil to face guys like Moose, Hosmer, and Gordon. Also Loup missed a lot of key games in the ALCS

Why was Cecil placed on the 15 day DL or whatever so fast? He was f***ing pitching from the mound the next day I believe... but he wasnt eligible to come back cause we blew our load so quick saying he was done for the playoffs.

Yep. If DIckey or Estrada can't go deep into their respective starts this weekend (both realistic possibilities), then the Jays are in trouble by using Chavez and Floyd as short relievers. Not surprising, really.

I'll take a slow start if it means a managerial change in May. I still think the FO letting Gibbons stay on was a terrible move. I know this is not their core team, and letting Gibbons take the fall in case things go sour is probably the smart move on their end, but man, just get a manager that can win in 2016 and then transition into whatever direction they want to take in 2017-beyond (rebuilding, retooling, whatever). Giving this Hick a raise and letting him make roster decisions is so disgusting.

Yeah losing cecil was a major blow in the ALCS. We prob win that is cecil is in or if the Jays don't blow home field advantage last week of the season.

Hopefully it's Venditte.

If they call somebody up it's likely just for one game (since Estrada gets activated Sunday). So whoever it is would ideally be pretty rested since they're only up for today's game. Another possibility would be a position player to give the bench more flexibility if Donaldson has to DH again.

Holy f***. I'm losing my mind. That's what I saw the first time I checked Baseball Reference and when I checked again I didn't see it.

Much like Chavy himself

So I have defended and given him a lot of slack. Tonight I will say I am getting very frustrated with John Gibbons decisions.

Justin Smoak should have been playing at first base. Brett Cecil should not have come in to face Chase Headley and Starling Castro. Sanchez should come back out, or Jesse Chavez should face Headley and Castro. If Smoak starts at first, you bring in Colabello to hit for Saunders and Barney to hit for Goins in the ninth.

I don't ever want to see Eric Wedge near the playing field, but I would love to see Sandy Alomar Jr. managing this team.

Can I change my vote?!

The offense was ass. That's the reason we lost this game.

Cecil was s***, but the team gave up 3 runs as a whole. If you can do that on most nights you should win...especially if this offense was even their average self.

Only scoring 2 off Tanaka tonight the way he pitched is unacceptable

Smoak should have been the starting 1B from the beginning. I don't understand why they kept both Smoak and Cola, when even fans knew that Gibbons would start Cola. A back-up 1B making $4m is a joke. Should have traded one of them and given the remaining one full time AB's. A platoon at 1B for two replacement level players is ridiculous. At least Smoak has some upside, though.

but it's not the first time he's been complete s*** but still baffled our offense.

Can't blame Gibby for 2 runs, but running Cecil out vs leaving sanchez in or going to chavez you can. Cecil hasn't looked great, needs a few soft landing spots to get right early on.

????????????????????????????????????

I don't understand why Gibbons doesn't understand the concept of spreading out the rest over several days instead of resting two guys in the same day

Saunders and Tulo are both out with minor injuries.

dont bother, this board over reacts instantly to everything Gibby does.

I wonder if Venditte gets sent down for Hutch. He's been pretty terrible tbh and Girado has been good so far.

Is Venditte even available tonight? Seems pointless to delay the demotion though I do think that's likely what happens. I would expect a position player to get called up after Hutch's spot start. Either Montero or an OF.

Hopefully Montero, maybe he has a Luckabello type run in him?

Montero was busted for PEDs before. The cycle continues

Montero sucks wish there was another OF we could bring up. Then you could have Saunders DH and someone play LF.

Dom Brown was leading the league in homers last time I heard. Maybe he's on a hot streak we could ride for a bit.
