5minutesforframing Verified Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Agreed. The thought of giving up a lot of Kimbrel/Ross also makes my stomach turn. Kennedy is garbage, why make a trade at all if it's not an upgrade that has the potential to make the Jays contenders.
jayswin11 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 I really don't see us making a move for a RP, I think Hawkins was it. Won't be a rental starter either unless it costs nothing. Only move will be for a controllable starter, maybe a LF
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 I could see a big trade with Milwaukee. Parra, Fiers, and K-Rod all seem like AA targets.

pickoff22 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Shark might be out. I simply can't believe that AA would be in for Price given the cost and state of the farm system at the moment.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 I wouldn't even try to go for Price. If anything to drive up the Price (rimshot) for him. The Yankees certainly have the pieces to do it though. Aaron Judge is such a good fit for the Tigers, especially with Cespedes leaving.
McDude Verified Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Kennedy is garbage, why make a trade at all if it's not an upgrade that has the potential to make the Jays contenders. hes an FA, wont cost much, is WAYYY better than doubront, probably better than dickey... has a 3.84 xfip. His only problem this year has been limiting the homers. I think the way our bullpen is shaping up, hed be a great pick up; let that power pen shorten the game.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 I think Nightengale is the most full-of-s*** writer out of all the big story news guys. He's always commenting on every rumor, but it's extremely rare for him to ever actually break any trades. Far more often than not, he spews garbage that never materializes into anything. We already know that the Jays don't often trade for guys they're rumored to be in on, we know they don't have much interest in rentals, and Nightengale has never provided reliable information in regards to the Blue Jays. Taking all that into account, we can probably safely assume that he's making up what he's heard, or somebody told him to leak the Jays name to maybe push a player's value. Don't believe anything you read about the Jays until it happens.

Could be a really good buy low option.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Ninja is going to trade for price and sign him to an extension
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Shark might be out. I have to assume Nightengale is full of s*** here as regards the Jays

BTS Community Moderator Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Ninja is going to trade for price and sign him to an extension That would be a disaster.
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 That would be a disaster. For our opponents, agreed.

Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 I'm sick and tired of F5'ing every 2 minutes. Get a starter AA pls!

glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Seriously, if it costs nothing, get James Shields. AA clearly has no problems paying someone $20m for what they did in the past, so at least with Shields he wouldn't have to give up much.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Starting to think we won't do anything more.

If AA paid his salary I'm pretty sure his little nub would get no love from his wife
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Jays rumoured to be interested in Mike Leake and they say AA is "in" on a number of pitchers at his level (ie, not aces). Leake's a solid target, I'd prefer him over Kennedy, as I think a GB pitcher would do better in TO. However, since it's been rumoured, it's unlikely to ever happen. There's been no rumours of AA trading for King Felix - so that's good news.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Dickey + Stroman + Money for Syndergaard
