TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Gallardo feels like a time bomb. K/BB below 2, HR/FB nearly half of what it's been the last four years. It's only a matter of time before he starts giving up runs. If you get him for very little (like a Colabello), he's a nice little piece for the 5th spot, but I wouldn't replace someone like Estrada with him. Gallardo shouldn't be "the move". He could be the move before the move, but unless the Jays want to keep Estrada in the rotation (which isn't exactly ridiculous), they'd need one more big arm.

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Gallardo and his ability to get ground balls would work well in Toronto, especially with the improved infield defence. He should come fairly cheap too. That being said, acquiring someone better than Hutch is the biggest need right now. Shields or Ross plus Gallardo along with Tulo and Hawkins would make for a pretty good deadline.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Gallardo is worth a draft pick to the Rangers? Really? Then if i was them I wouldn't trade him.I'd take the draft pick or anything they can acquire.
fireballW Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Have we given up on trading Navarro?
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I hate giving this ******** hipster any more exposure than he already has, but he did make a tweet like this prior to the Donaldson deal... Also re: Gallardo, this is a tweet from the same guy who just said the Jays were interested: And the Rays are reportedly taking offers on Karns.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 ^ OH GOD Please dont trade the farm for 9 starts of Price, Please. I am worried now.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Heyman says Jays making a major push for Price, which scares the crap out of me.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 This will not end well. Miss the playoffs and give up Norris and Pompey
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I really don't want Price. The cost for half a season of price will be higher than the Tigers paid for 1.5 years of control last season.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 This will not end well. Miss the playoofs and give up Norris and Pompey No that wont happen I am sure AA is not this stupid, considering the types of players he has acquired recently.

DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Have we given up on trading Navarro? Are there any contenders that need a C? Think the boat has sailed on that one.
MunenoriKawasakiMVP Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Price value may not be as high as some of you think. SRF+Pompey or Alford vs Price could work
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Price value may not be as high as some of you think. SRF+Pompey or Alford vs Price could work What? That's high, not SRF but Pompey

Maybe AA is like F it, time for a playoff push and big bid to save my job..
jays76 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Are there any contenders that need a C? Think the boat has sailed on that one. That boat sailed in the offseason when AA was trying to get too cute with Arizona, should've been a straight salary dump after Martin was signed.
MunenoriKawasakiMVP Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 What? That's high, not SRF but Pompey High compared to what some people are thinking. Some think that Norris may be traded for Price. And we never know AA may resign Price @ the end of the year. AA will never stop surprising us.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Morosi trolling jays fans on twitter

And we never know AA may resign Price @ the end of the year. AA will never stop surprising us. Why would Price resign? He could set a record if he gets into a bidding war or choose a destination of his choosing. Be realistic please
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Anyone who wants the Jays to sign Price as an FA is insane. He's not going to get less than 200M.
MunenoriKawasakiMVP Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Maybe AA forces the owners to scrap the Vernon Wells rule
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Baseless speculation, but this is Morosi's useless opinion on what it could take: That's a f***ing ridiculous cost for 10 starts from a pitcher, I don't care if it's Walter Johnson.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Maybe AA forces the owners to scrap the Vernon Wells rule Its not the owners, its AA and Beeston.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Its not the owners, its AA and Beeston. I think it's purely Beeston to be quite frank.
