flafson Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Do we even want Price? He's a rental and cost is going to be much more than a Mitch Nay or a D.J Davis...
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I wanted Moss initially. Underrated.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Bob Nightengale @BNightengale 2m2 minutes ago MLB executives are absolutely convinced #Tigers David Price will wind up with the #Dodgers, who likely will have to part with Urias. We can't beat Urias Why not? - He's just a Mexican with one eye. Norris is more handsome and have two eyes.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Why not? - He's just a Mexican with one eye. Norris is more handsome and have two eyes. but dats racist
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Whoa, didn't realize Moss has been bad this year and +94 wRC wth Cardinals? Bad trade! http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=4467&position=1B/OF
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 but dats racist "Los bomberos no se pisan la manguera entre si"
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Could see us sniping one of the Cleveland pitchers since they're even deeper on that front.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Jordan Gorosh Kaminsky looked like a role 4 when I saw him last yr. Scout who had pick in that area on the phone w his boss "glad we didn't take this guy" Brad Mills?
jays76 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 So who do you guys think the Jays will target if Price goes to the Dodgers? There's Leake, Shields, Ross, Cashner remaining on the surface. Maybe another kick at the can with Cleveland..
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 It was probably from his own team. Joel Sherman from the NY post first leaked it. Makes it more likely but Sherman is well connected, could've been from either side
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Backing out from a trade you wanted to do anyways because of a leak would be incredibly short-sighted. This was a good trade for the Mets and I highly doubt they would have backed out of it for something so trivial. I'd argue the opposite, some short term pain to ensure a better long term outcome. Teams can't be leaking trade details until they're complete. If you can't do business in that way then find someone else to deal with.

Leaking trades that will go through 99% of the time anyways is completely inconsequential.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Makes it more likely but Sherman is well connected, could've been from either side I've been following Sherman for awhile, he primarily reports on Yankee/Mets related deals.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I dont see Moss as much of an upgrade over Reynolds. Maybe just me.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Yes I would keep calling Cleveland. LMAO. Every hour, Every Minute. We were persistent on Donaldson, persistent on Tulo. We got a trend here.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 ^ I wouldn't give much for Shields, but if its money we are talking about, I would definately do it. Boyd is the most I'd give.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Carrasco or bust. Don't give up, AA.

It wasn't inconsequential at all, the Mets were embarrassed last night because the details were leaked. Whoever let the info out made them look very bad -- their reputation with fans and peers is not something that organizations take lightly.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Moss's wRC+ 2012 - 160 2013 - 137 2014 - 121 2015 - 94 The hip issue he had this offseason is likely part of the reason he sucks this year, but he certainly wasn't trending in the right direction either. SLG% went from .596 in 2012 to .438 last year to .407 this year. But of course he'll likely rebound in St. Louis. Who goes to St. Louis and sucks really? nobody.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 lol that HBP on the foot is so stupid. Very slow to react.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Holy f*** do we ever need an upgrade in LF. I knew Colabello was terrible but looking into Carrera and Valencia would you imagine that Valencia has been our best of the three in LF? Colabello's rocking that -9 DRS (-14 if you include RF) with a UZR of -56.6, Valencia -3 and -4.6 and Carrera has been -10 and -8.3. Obviously Colabello has no business putting his feet onto anything other than a batters box (which is also debatable) but Carrera is basically in the same boat.
jays76 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Yes I would keep calling Cleveland. LMAO. Every hour, Every Minute. Tell me about it. It's either Cle or SD that he's got to be talking with now due to both teams being stocked with controllable pitchers. Unless we see another ninja move that nobody sees coming..

Carrera for some reason thinks every play is a highlight play so he leaves his feet and misses the ball. If he would stop doing that, he might be league average.

Tulo plays 1 game for TO and he's already been worth more than Carrera, Colabello, Navarro and Goins put together.
