Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Blair was saying that the Jays were in contact with COL, I'd imagine Chad Bettis is a name that came up. Would be a great get if possible.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 If Blair clears his throat one more time on air, I might lose it. Who the hell does that. EVERY DAY.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 That's not encouraging. I'd have Kennedy and Latos as my top targets.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Padres wanted Pillar and Nolin for Headley. Funny, if it was last year at the deadline I would have done that deal. It looks like a bad move in retrospect, though. where'd you get that info?
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 That's not encouraging. I'd have Kennedy and Latos as my top targets. lol top targets?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 where'd you get that info? I think it came out in an Elliott report It was generally reported though, it's a thing
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Latos making 9.4 mill so for 2 months of him it would cost a bit over 3mill
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 lol top targets? I'm sure everyone would like a Price or what not but those two are my targets because they wouldn't cost a lot. I want to keep Norris and Hoffman. I don't care about Pompey. But yeah, as much as possible I want value.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 That's not encouraging. I'd have Kennedy and Latos as my top targets. I agree with this. The cost for the "aces" (Price, Cueto & Hamels) will way too high - especially with no guarantee it makes us a playoff team. I also suspect the price to acquire decent pitchers with club control is high. I'd rather trade some mid level prospects for Kennedy & Latos and see if that can put this team over the top. MB, Latos, Kennedy, Hutch & Estrada is a very solid rotation - which is all we need with this offensive lineup. Move into next year with both Hoffman and Norris (along with the return of Stro) and continue with the long term plan of sustainable winning.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Why the hell does everybody want Leake? He's the worst of all the available starters that have been mentioned on the market so far.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 The price of two months of Latos maybe Sanchez. Too much if you ask me
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Why the hell does everybody want Leake? He's the worst of all the available starters that have been mentioned on the market so far. 3.88 SIERA, 3.64 xfip in a band box. Lots of ground balls and very durable.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 The price of two months of Latos maybe Sanchez. Too much if you ask me Nobody is asking you. Of all the people on this forum, you're the most desperate for the Jays to make a move, and over the last year, I don't think anybody has complained more than you have. You're also one of the people that doesn't want to actually give up anything of value to make those acquisitions. Makes perfect sense. If the Jays do make a trade, you'll probably be the first to complain that they gave up too much, and that not only are they still doomed for 2015, they probably just threw their future away. You're the worst kind of sports fan.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 lol top targets? With any luck AA is working on someone not known to be available.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 If he ever gets traded to us, it will be fun seeing his wife's reaction http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/mat-latos--wife-freaked-out-on-twitter-as-trade-rumors-swirled-about-him-181130209.html To be fair, she's smoking hot. Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Jerry Crasnick #BlueJays worked hard to improve clubhouse mix with Donaldson, Martin additions. Being very careful about who they bring in.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Jerry Crasnick The #BlueJays are also focusing more on starters than relievers at present. They're open to a ton of different options.
xposbrad Verified Member Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 The price of two months of Latos maybe Sanchez. Too much if you ask me Not with the way he's been pitching this year. I think you could get away with 2 lower prospects for him. The Marlins want him traded 100%, they are always looking to dump guys. I think they have 0 interest in resigning him, since that's what they do with their players.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Worked well with bringing in DeRosa and Vizquel. Keep making those same mistakes, Alex! Are you mad, Boxy? Do you prefer the doucebag of Barry Bonds over the good guy called John McDonald? The clubhouse's harmony is better than the talent.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Worked well with bringing in DeRosa and Vizquel. Keep making those same mistakes, Alex! I know you're mostly joking but... at least Donaldson and Martin are really good players in addition to being positive presences in the clubhouse.
