Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I find it hilariously ironic how much Nox is derided here by certain people. Ha, ironic indeed given the insulting comments Nox is well known for, some good ones in this thread
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Ha, ironic indeed given the insulting comments Nox is well known for, some good ones in this thread Everyone Nox bestows those upon deserve it. Also, not sure how that is ironic, but you probably aren't aware of that due to your severe case of dumbassery.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Let me be the first in this thread, tonight, to explicitly maintain the opinion than Aaron Sanchez still blows as a SP. I'd set the O/U on his rest of season ERA at 4.50. I hold this opinion because I have confidence in my ability to interpret statsy baseball info

Laika Community Moderator Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 The opinion has merit. Let's hope otherwise I agree. Hopefully his skills change and he becomes a viable SP.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Sanchez's walk rate has been steadily improving as the year has gone on. In his last 4 starts, he has allowed 8 walks in 28 innings. He has the GB rate to get by with a 5-6 K/9, but the walks are the deal breaker for him. Too early to get excited, but at least he's trending forward. rt^^^ I hope he can get the K's back up a little bit now, the 0 walks in 8 innings are fantastic to see. Maybe there was something to the whole "competitive walks" thing lol

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Still think Sanchez needs a cutter to really take the next step. He doesn't really throw anything hard that moves glove side which would really be useful and make his 2 seamer even more effrctive and less predictable for hitters
Zaun of the Dead Verified Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I think at this point Sanchez decent starts this year outnumber his straight up bad starts.

That 0-2 pitch that goes about a foot off the plate is about the most predictable ball ever. If he gets a decent wipeout pitch it could help him meet his potential.
Nox Verified Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Hey Nox. Did anyone ever tell you you're a f***in meatball? Lol because Sanchez's ERA-scaled true talent estimate maybe just maybe snuck under 5.0? I would say I expect more from you but that would be lying.
Nox Verified Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 No sign of BTS, Nox, King..... When you have the chance to watch a mediocre team play a near meaningless game on a random Friday night in June, you do it. It's just not something you can pass up.
Caper Verified Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Lol because Sanchez's ERA-scaled true talent estimate maybe just maybe snuck under 5.0? What a joke.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 almost every day i think of a stroman, syndergaard, hutchison, sanchez, ? rotation and cry a little
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Don't you worry. Norris, Hoffman, and Osuna will make up for Syndergaard before we know it. I think you may have been sarcastic, there. But I have high hopes for Hoffman and Osuna. Hoffman may be a #1 ace at some point soon, and Osuna will be a solid 2-3. Norris, well, I've never been a big fan. I'm hoping he can become a solid mid-rotation guy.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Stroman,Hoffer, resign Buehrle, Shanchez,Norris Osuna, Castro, Hutch, Boyd pen Looking good !

Sorrow Verified Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 What's your opinion on his walks greatly diminishing in the last 4 starts? It's nice but his FIP is still 5.11.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 What's your opinion on his walks greatly diminishing in the last 4 starts? TIL walking 3 guys in 6 innings is something to be applauded. Why do you fools have to make it SO difficult to cheer for particular players on the Bluejays? You're so quiet on guys like Goins, who you were defending vigorously with chest beating and all (turns out you were incredibly wrong - shocker) so quiet on Arencibia and now Sanchez is showing signs of maybe becoming a poor man's Jarred Cosart and you're rubbing it in the face of people who never made a definitive judgment in the first place? NO one said Aaron Sanchez is guaranteed garbage, NO one said that it is impossible he will become a somewhat valuable starting pitcher. They said "all signs point to Sanchez being one of the worst pitchers in baseball" or "Sanchez's past would indicate he's probably not going to continue pitching with a low ERA going forward" and all of those things still hold true. The only people making definitive claims (with heaping amounts of ignorance on the side) are you and your ill-educated ilk. What the f*** is wrong with you?

theblujay Verified Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Last I checked Goins has actually stuck as a bench piece so no I wasn't incredibly wrong. I'm just curious what Nox and I guess you think about his walks diminishing. But obviously the thought of Sanchez improving drives you insane.

Counting Goins as a bench player as a result of injuries to your initial roster is like a fat chick being proud of having big tits.
Caper Verified Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 You're so quiet on guys like Goins, who you were defending vigorously with chest beating and all (turns out you were incredibly wrong - shocker) Wait. What's wrong with Goins? He's an absolute superb defender, an all glove 2nd baseman or shortstop. Which is a perfect fit for a team that otherwise should have no problem scoring runs. He's a backup infielder, who I want in the lineup when a pitcher needs infield defense (Sanchez). Didn't he just get credit for 8 defensive runs saved in May? That's awesome, for this team, with that lineup, having him in there is excellent. The only people making definitive claims (with heaping amounts of ignorance on the side) are you and your ill-educated ilk. But they are not. Why would you say that. I don't think I read anyone make a single definitive claim.... Other then me making the claim that Nox is a meatball. Which is backed by science.
Caper Verified Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 What's your opinion on his walks greatly diminishing in the last 4 starts? Why would you f***ing care what a moron thinks? He watches games on a spread sheet. Gets 15 yer old fanboys to lick his choda. Who cares?

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Wait. What's wrong with Goins? Well, not much aside from the fact that he belongs in AA
