intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 I've never met a minor league deal with an invite to spring training that I didn't like... Hell, sign Pearl Harbor to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training and I'd be happy!

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 he'll score the walk-off winning run in the last game of the world series this year. Why would Muni be on the world series roster?

Muck Bartinez Verified Member Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Nothing wrong with this at all. Can't have too much infield depth, and I'd much rather have 200 PA go to Kawasaki than Goins. Muni is not a star by any means, but a 1 win/600 guy is definitely worth something in the infield, especially on a minor league deal.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 lol I didn't even realize he wasn't under contract. Good platoon partner for Tolleson if the Jays go that route. There's no clear starter at this point. Might be Maicer, might be Travis but it could easily be Tolleson/Kawasaki. Between them they can cover practically every position and they have decent platoon splits. It's not a very sexy thing plan to sell to the fans but as a bridge to Travis, it might very well be the best current option.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Kawasaki should start vs RHP. That says more about how bad our non-Travis 2B options are, but he's the best alternative in that spot.
TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Nice AAA depth. If only this were the case.
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 I like this signing and have been waiting for it.

READERsince2006 Verified Member Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 He is a perfect bridge gap guy, goins defence may be better at 2B and SS but id rather kawa start as 2B then backup when reyes when he is the dh, kawa defence is pass but he by no means an easy out in the 9 hole
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 I am JAPANEEEEESSEEEE. Glad to see he's in the organization
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Too bad. Hopefully he's never with the big league team. Hopefully someone else is better, but decent chance Kawa is the best 2B on the team.
