  1. have them pay all of this year, his option will vest and we will have him next year as well when we also plan on contending with Jose and Edwin in contract years Phillies can have like Jenkins and DJ Davis, they can also take Estrada and Navarro if they want too. How bout Ricky Romero lol. Used car sales man s*** "cmon Ruben ull look great in this almost new ford pinto."
  2. if he can have year like he did in 2013 i would be very happy 238/334/746 is nothing special but 253/246/782 away from safeco with 260/361/839 vs righties 192/274/548 vs lefties 400 ABs vs righties away from Safeco is the most productive #7 hitter in the MLB, would probably put him infront of Donaldson to provide protection and break up righties, we already know the 150-200 AB's by Valencia will rake. Keep EE as DH as these two also provide very respectable defence, better then Lind for sure.
  3. I know we need depth but in this guys spot starts he was saved but some ridiculous outfield defence, he had amazing AAA numbers but I'd rather give Johan a shot who will be in AAA. You wanna stretch out a guy who has had decent numbers in MLB but still has an option to burn, I would give Jenkins that duty.
  4. I would keep Castro down in Dunedin to start with Osuna and give them 5-6 starts at each level to stretch them out till the All Star Break. Get the innings up then they can be relievers for us the second half of this year to keep their clock back and give them a taste Give Cecil, Loup, Hynes, Redmond, Drabek, Delabar and Estrada. First one that sucks gets replaced by one of M West C Jenkins W Lopez B Schultz Ur Name Here
  5. With Romero, Navarro, Buehrle and those two off the books is $40 million with guys to replace for league minimum (Flamming bag of s***(Romero), AJ Jimenez(FATBOY), Stroman(PAPA Buehrle), Redmond(Estrada), Izturis(Goins) After the raise for Martin and Arb or long term with Donaldson still $20-$25 million
  6. Give it to Smoak/Valencia for April, if Valencia doesn't work out we have Dayan V maybe Tolleson. If Smoak doesn't work out trade Navarro to free up money and get Howard from the Phillies if he is mashing righties and we only pay $5 million per this and next year. That assumes EE is also healthy playing well, I would acquire Howard in May(ish) if EE isn't healthy or playing well. He can play 1B okay and be a huge target for Reyes and Donaldson while probably mashing righties in-between Joey Bats and Donaldson
  7. takes his time between pitches, maybe cuz it was such high leverage. Thanks for the video, boy got some stank on that arm
  8. He is a perfect bridge gap guy, goins defence may be better at 2B and SS but id rather kawa start as 2B then backup when reyes when he is the dh, kawa defence is pass but he by no means an easy out in the 9 hole
  9. O'Brien will be JPA at best horrid defence if he sticks with pop but sub 240 avg and sub 300 bop either way probably just a ploy to try and kill navarros stock a bit and make the jays give in for their offer
  10. There goes the Dbacks as a trade partner for Navarro Stewart: D’Backs Will Not Pursue Catching Upgrade GM Dave Stewart says that he has decided not to pursue an upgrade behind the plate, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports. Instead, the club will rely on the continued development of recent trade acquisition Peter O’Brien while also utilizing some combination of Tuffy Gosewisch and Rule 5 pick Oscar Hernandez. Piecoro quotes Stewart: “I’ve decided that I’m not going to pursue another catcher. I talked with my people and my coaching staff. They believe that O’Brien is going to be around sooner than later. If that does happen, there’s no need to go out and get another guy. We would have had to trade somebody we didn’t want to trade to make it happen. We’re going to be patient and allow the progression of O’Brien to take place and stand pat on that.” O’Brien, 24, came to Arizona in the Martin Prado deal and only had time for four games in his new organization. A bat-first catcher, the question remains whether O’Brien’s glove will be good enough to keep him behind the dish. Piecoro reports that Arizona was impressed with his work in the AFL, and notes that the team has had a chance to watch him over the last few days as well. Of course, it is far from clear that O’Brien will be ready to contribute at the big league level this season, leaving the team with quite a thin group at the position.
  11. If we hadnt already committed a million to smoak then maybe, but the smoak/valencia platoon and depth is a much greater asset and for the price Maybe if smoak shits the bed in april/may and howard is healthy and atleast productive vs righties the maybe send the phillies aj jiminez or a couple lower ranked 20-30 prospects but they have to send 50 million with him, we pay the buyout in 2017 Reyes Martin Bautista Encarnacion Donaldson Howard Saunders Travis Pompey Not sure if edwin at 1st for 100 games is good for his health, defence and his preference of dh
  12. He was for sure a winner of the social douche award in one of his years with us, the top 10 MLB catcher comment he made won him at least the social douche of a month award
  13. Him vs righties and one of izturis, tolleson, valencia vs lefties
  14. pennington for navarro works, makes 3.? million switch hitter stop gap for travis then backs up 2b, ss. free agent next year maybe give them iztures too lol
  15. not a great average but still good production overall he doesn't need to be exclusive to rhp as his numbers vs lhp aren't outstanding either, but valencias bat needs to be in vs lhp maybe smoak vs rhp exclusively will bring up his average but the power is there for sure could knock in a lot of runs with all the high OBP guys in front of him
  16. we need to get two legit relievers for sure then go get at the least a bounce back candidate like beachy, medlin, billingsley, masterson, ogando but if possible volquez or liriano on a 2-3 year deal would be very nice
  17. not sure if this split is out there does anyone know smoaks numbers as a lefty vs rhp on the road those numbers over 400+ at bats would be very nice from a 7 hitter
  18. Ive mentioned him as an option but as mentioned the defence is pretty bad and there are better stop gap options on the board, maybe weeks cant find a suiter and becomes a blue jay but wont be until the middle infield market becomes more barron
  19. exactly and when were on a budget but paying Thole 1.75mil we have to save with guys like kawasaki and pillar at 500K each. both serve their purpose backing up multiple positions and provide good at bats when used in those specific roles
  20. thats not a bad bench, each guy serves as good platoon/bench guys id like to get kawasaki back, played decent defence and wasn't an easy out, took walks. not sure if his stupidity plays into the new clubhouse but i would welcome him back for league minimum
  21. aoki is for sure the best option, we have so much power 3-6 that if he is 2 behind reyes it plays well as he doesn't k much and puts the ball in play, can steal a bag and a good OBP in front of sluggers he is also the cheapest, least commitment and most consistent of all options resign kawasaki to backup instead of goins, not as great defence but makes pitchers earn the out sign ichiro to play cf for a month or two, give pompey time in AAA although him and travis may not need it. best case we got kenny lofton and altuve 2.0 LOL
  22. recover the draft pick lost for signing martin, go out and sign markakis or aoki to fill in the 2-hole and LF at less money
  23. He lost credibility when he spelled cheque.... check lol
  24. i dont understand the question, u probably think I'm some troll but I'm a legit fan first account here, use to read the old forum for years, trolls got ridiculous there then when i went back the threads were s***, searched google and found this forum with all the same good posters from there(shame ECJF has to give up his like 30k posts) this is my only account and will be so forever, thanks trolls are negative like that guy that hated hechevarria and beckettisdog and his 1000 other profiles, or passive aggressive ****s that need a kick in the teeth
  25. Zobrist would be amazing but yea not sure i would wanna pay the prospect price tag TB would want, if the jays trade Happ then estrada probably takes his spot, martin is good with pitchers but probably not this good lol, maybe the homers are an outlier but id rather try to trade him or DFA him rather then use him as a 5million non closer/swingman when we have jenkins/hendricks linds attitude and lack of versatility got him axed, but I'm intrigued by smoaks away numbers and potential at RC in a deep lineup so we will have to see how this plays out id love the jays to make a run at LaRoche, platoon with valencia a bit, good pop and decent defence at 1B
