Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 If you place the blame on Dickey for that inning, then baseball may not be the best sport for you to follow Obviously you have never pitched...dickey will blame himself for the inning because he walked the leadoff batter
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Dickey is tied for 5th in the league in BB surrendered. Only Burnett, Masterson, Jimenez and Shelby Miller have surrendered more BB. I would have guessed Dickey was up there, but I'm surprised who the other 4 are. Some decent names
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Well on the bright side, none of them look like they have SIGNIFICANT injuries. Should be a couple 15 day DL stints but nothing too bad. 15 Day DL trips in the middle of a pennant race are crushing.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Dickey gave up the runs...he is pitching. If he doesnt walk the first batter none of the above may have happened. it was 1 earned run.....you can debate whether it should have been 1 run or 0....but there's no way both those runs were on dickey.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Dickey gave up the runs...he is pitching. If he doesnt walk the first batter none of the above may have happened. Competent defence gets him out of the inning. Walks suck, but they happen. LF and the passed ball are the culprits here.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Obviously you have never pitched...dickey will blame himself for the inning because he walked the leadoff batter A pitcher being delusional doesnt make him right. Once the ball leaves the pitchers hand, the results of the play are out of his control.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Giving up runs is not all about pitching you douche. Kiss my ass
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Obviously you have never pitched...dickey will blame himself for the inning because he walked the leadoff batter Obviously you have never played left field. EE will blame himself for the inning because he should have easily got the second out and no run would have scored. Obviously you have never played catcher. Those will blame himself for the inning because he should have easily caught that passed ball and no second run would have scored.

The ball was hit almost to the wall. When rasmus fails to catch those its because its a great hit...same should apply to a 1B playing LF
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 15 Day DL trips in the middle of a pennant race are crushing. Playoff-caliber teams should be able to overcome a few 15 day DL stints. And its July, not September.
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 I f***ing hate RA DICKEY. That is all. Fair. He's been pretty good today though.
S33n Verified Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Over under on RA Dickey BB this inning: 0.5. Who's got what?

When rasmus fails to catch those its because its a great hit...same should apply to a 1B playing LF There's every bit of blame on EE. That missed play is what caused those runs to score. Was not a great hit at all, was a brutally misplayed ball that led to runs being scored.
Governator Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Edwin praying nothing comes his way He used up all of those baseball prayers yesterday.

Edwin took a bad route, he's not a good outfielder. A half competent fielder gets that ball every time. Stop blaming the pitcher for what should honestly have been scored an error. It's like blaming the pitcher for a ball that gets lost in the sun because he should have thrown a pitch that just couldn't be hit a fly. Give it up.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Dickey would be so much better in this park for 16 starts. He can't get away with that high non-knuckler in the RC
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Oh my god just f*** off already. Mods? My gosh quit it already...if u disagree thats fine, edwin shouldnt be in LF but he also shouldnt be expected to catch a hard hit ball to the wall in my opinion
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Just watched the reviewed play, wow that is messy!! That doesn't happen often, lol
