jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Please go to the game if you can tomorrow! 9 game win streak, there should be more than 17k in the stands!! Rays aren't very popular in Toronto. The only Rays that are popular are at the Ripley's Aquarium next door. Plus, it's a weekday series.
blurnandez Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 S'up mate? Straight chillin'. Thought it's as good a time as any to register here and get back to wastin' time on the Internet! 10 games over! Jays!

I don't care who were playing, the team is first in the division and have won 9 straight!! Support the team!

Their TV ratings are huge, and for Rogers, that's probably just as big a deal (dem advertising dollaz)... Don't worry, cheap straw cowboy hats are sure to lure in the rubes!
Jaysfan_85 Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 This team hasn't won s*** in two decades. They aren't getting big attendance numbers in May. Especially after the debacle that was last season.
Jaysfan_85 Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 58-50 the rest of the way will get us to 90 wins which is probably borderline division title but might be enough this season.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 We're in good shape. Neither Boston nor Tampa are close to contention right now. Only the Yankees and maybe the Orioles are in the mix right now.

I think 90 would be close to a lock. Jays are projected to win 88 right now and no other team in the East is projected higher than 82. We play .500 ball from here on out and we get to 86 wins which could very well be enough to take the AL East. We've got a looooong way to go but the first 1/3 of the season has given us a good jump on the rest of the year. http://www.fangraphs.com/coolstandings.aspx
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 I didn't wanna post this during the game because I know a lot of people around here are superstitious (me included), but halfway through that game I wanted to just point out that if we were going to win this game, it would be kind of an amazing testament to the fact that lately, if the pitching is doing poorly, the bats bail us out, and if the bats are silent, the pitching carries us through, and if neither are particularly good, it seems we've got some pretty excellent defensive prowess in a pinch, and that is what did end up winning the game for us. One of the best defensive games I've seen from the Jays in a very long time. Every guy on the field was on point.
Cooler Heads Prevail Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 10 WINS ABOVE .500 HOLY f***ING s*** cf I find it ironic that people are getting excited about this team and 80% of the moves people suggested on here involved giving up on this season to rebuild for the future. Dickey, Buehrle, Bautista, Navarro, and Janssen are all playing important roles on this team. Convert them to Syndegaard, D'Arnaud, Profar, Hanigan, Santos, Josh Johnson and we would have a really bad 100 loss team with a whole lot of complaining about how the Jays never win anything, how our guys always get injured etc etc.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 People have a right to bitch about the front office. Regardless of the results, this team is being run by baboons
flafson Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Do NOT bunt him to 2nd base Haha, best post ever!
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 BLUE JAYS!~ SAY WHAT - BLUE JAYS!~ SAY WHO - BLUE JAYS!~ SAY WOOOOOOOOOOO!~ caps.
flafson Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Did you guys notice how Hendrick didn't get a lot of calls early in the game? To me it looked like Navarro was annoyed by where Hendricks threw it and as a result received it badly and the ump called it ball.
