Jays: Hendricks allowed a home run and two other hits in 5.2 innings of a 3-2 victory over Oakland in his season debut Friday. Atop the AL East this late for the first time since July 6, 2000, the Blue Jays have averaged 6.3 runs, hit 17 home runs and batted .321 during their longest winning streak since matching the club-record 11 last June. A winner in 13 of 15, Toronto has homered in 10 straight contests for the first time since a 12-game stretch Aug. 6-18, 2011. Toronto has the best home record in the American League at 15-11. Rays: Chris Archer gave up four hits and struck out 11 in six innings while not factoring in the decision of a 1-0 victory over Boston on Friday. Alex Cobb's streak of consecutive scoreless innings was halted at 24.2 innings on Tuesday night, setting a new franchise record. Cobb broke the previous mark of 23 straight shutout innings, set by James Shields in 2011. The Rays have recorded four consecutive games with double-digit hits after notching 12 in Tuesday's loss. HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 This can be the streak breaker. Liam Hendriks wasn't good at all in his previous start, and Archer can snap out of his mediocre performance and put a nice one together
DickeyJohnsonWang Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 it's pretty sad that their #9 hitter leads the team in homeruns.
CHRIS Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 This seems like a loseable game. Hopefully we get to Archer early.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Royals are getting pummeled by the Astros right now.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Nope i said that if we lost a game in this series it would be against Cobb. We are gold now.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Edwing has 4 more games to break the Bonds record. Let's hope he gets a few today.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Edwing has 4 more games to break the Bonds record. Let's hope he gets a few today. Record for May, yep. 18 is also the AL Record for home runs in a month, set in August 1937 by Rudy York. Sosa has the MLB record for any month with 20, set in June 1998.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 They Jays are either magic, or have cheat codes... Either way, they've got this one in the bag.

closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Hendricks was throwing too high last game... hopefully we can chalk that up to being nervous.
Jonzo Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Hendricks probably gets beat up today. Last start he got a very lucky IMO. Too lazy to look it up, but I believe his FIP and xFIP were pretty high.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Ya; it's gonna be a night of the bats. Considering it was what, 19 - 11 last two games combined on 4 decent - good ERA pitchers.

Well they could've noticed the herp-derpiness and fixed some things... we shall see. Keep it under 5 runs and we probably have the win.

reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 lol at people still worrying about good-not-great opposing starting pitchers. That era is over. We're going to kick the s*** out of Archer. That's the spirit! Unless the starts align for non-aces they are going to give up runs against the Jays. They've actually done a really good job making adjustments this year, their lineup is great on paper but you have to give Seitzer at least some credit for the change in approach.

kgm1 Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Needs to pitch down in the zone tonite. I do expect him to be better but I really don't believe he has the stuff to pitch up like he did in his first start.
