Tanking is for losers, especially in baseball where the draft is such a crap shoot anyways. Tanking might hurt their chances of getting quality free agents. The only thing worse then tanking would be trading away all their veterans one year into a three year plan. Another favorite idea on this forum LOL.

LOL HOW FUNNY IS IT PLEASE TeLL US

You have absolutely no big picture thinking in your make up. Every single thing you post is immediate and short sighted, suggesting your whole decision making process is short term and lacks vision. Have you really no idea that you are like this ? It's quite obvious to almost anyone who reads a days worth of posts from you.

And seriously, you really need to stop saying I'm stupid or retarded. Here's the reality. I would wager $10,000 straight up on an IQ test winner take all without hesitation, and smoke your ass with ease. Go ahead, tell me honestly what your education level is, I'm curious. Who is this guy who posts like he's 15 years old and seems to have a serious case of a.d.d. ?

At least if you just came out and admitted your whole act is to be the site's troll, I'd give you some credit. But you seem to truly believe the s*** you post, which is astonishing really its some of the dumbest s*** I've read in years on any forum any topic.

God, I know some seriously stupid people who have graduated from a university. Stop showing around your degree from wherever-the-f*** because, literally, no one cares outside of maybe that JSFIP guy.

And short sighted? What's more short sighted, winning meaningless games for the sake of POSSIBLY paying free agents in the hopes of winning next year (spoiler, probably not happening) or getting a high, and protected draft pick in a pretty deep draft?

Hurrrr, maybe you aren't stupid, but you sure lack common sense. Your false feeling of intellectual superiority is sickening. There are several guys on here that are far more educated than you, since you use that as a barometer for intellect, and they feel that winning is counter productive too. Reading books and regurgitating information verbatim doesn't mean you're smart.

By the way, as you talk about a crap shoot or whatever, the Jays were literally one pick away from Austin Meadows. I know he's not Mike Trout, but he'll probably be a top prospect pretty soon. Disregarding prospect value is...what was it...?

I meant in the sense that, if we have a protected pick, AA and Co might be more likely to go after a top free agent because we don't have to give up our first round pick. Not neccisarlly sign somebody. I'm pretty sure that AA has publicly stated that he would rather go the trade route than free agent. But if we have a protected pick, he might be more likely to go after a big name because of the fact we don't have to give up our first round.

Right, because if you just sign the guy instead of letting him sign elsewhere first and then trading for him, you don't get to get rid of a whole bunch of prospects! Where's the fun in that?

My rage at their annual September hot streak is only tempered by the fact that I saw it coming back in July once they were well and truly KO'd from contention. We all called it.

f*** this team. Seriously. Sick of this s***, every f***ing year for two decades now, not good enough to realistically contend past mid-June, not bad enough to get an elite prospect in the draft. Treadmilling ********, it never ends, every. f***ing. September. they pull s*** and swan dive right into the middle of the pack. Stupid twats, now we'll be force-fed an entire offseason of hopium off the back of one month of meaningless wins from a bunch who can only refrain from s***ing the bed once all the pressure's off.

This is the kind of bs post that lacks any common sense that I expect from someone with a chip on their shoulder about higher education. Common sense ? Come on, I read the overdone theories on here and see statistics being misused so much. Anyone stating that Joe Carter was a terrible player lacks common sense, they can only look at a somewhat flawed stat like WAR and treat it like it's the bible. Common sense suggests players like Carter and Alomar were winners who were respected and liked by their team mates, performed in big situations, and strong pieces of perpetual playoff contendors.

I never said getting a degree makes one necessarily intelligent or practical. However, for the record, I graduated with honours at the U. of Waterloo in Mathematics with minor studies in IT and Business. Its still one of the most respected degrees in the country, and ironically one of the most practical too. You likely are correct, that there are other highly educated people on this board ( more educated ? not sure what that would mean but whatever ), but if they are intelligent they might know no dummy is graduating from that program. In fact, "King" might even have some classmates who aspire to get accepted into that program; it's still well respected 30 years later. Perhaps he'll believe in this "fantasy land" though and suggest its a bad program to go to because some idiot on his baseball forum went there.

You must be new to the internet. Everyone is a rocket scientist/superstar amateur athlete who was on injury away from making it pro in like 5 sports.

Good news on the tanking front my friends.

After LAA we play 3 vs BAL, 3 vs NYY, 3 vs BOS, 1 vs CWS, 3 vs BAL, 3 vs TB.

Those games are going to be very important to the AL E teams down the stretch so hopefully this BS September hot streak will be over!

Wow, that's a killer stretch of games against decent/good teams that care about the games immensely since most oftem are fighting for a wild card spot.

Add to that Edwin is MIA, Sierra is a hazard, Ricky is in the house, and might have ourselves a nice 5-11 or 4-12 run.

I still think we got a real shot at the 7th or 8th pick

We are only 4.5 f***ing games out of the 4th pick. That's a 10-pick difference. This stupid ass team can't even lose right.

Most important thing is that this year's pick is protected. Last years comp pick already is. A top 10 pick would make dipping in to the FA market that much more appealing.

A team the quality of our Toronto Blue Trash should be getting perennial top 5 picks and we barely ever even pick within the top 10.

Good thing we're playing a lot of games against the AL East the remainder of the way, that should help lol.

We suck at developing anyway, doesn't really matter which pick we get.

Our terrible player development makes an early pick even more valuable. The better player we start with, the less likely we are to f*** him up? I hope.

God I'm pretty sure this has been explained to you before. If we finish in the top 10 we don't have to give up our first round pick as compensation for signing a top free agent.

Also this.

Yup, you're right.

I'm just trying to imagine if we had picked Mike Trout, would he be the same player he is now?

Missing Jose, Edwin, and Colby certainly helps out tanking cause.

Well that's pretty much 90% of the power

I'm surprised they've been scoring runs as well as they have been

Sierra is the next David Ortiz, i'm telling you...

>Next David Ortiz

>Market him as Bautista

>Goins is a 5 win defender

This is truly spectacular.

c'monnnn tank nation

15 of the remaining 16 are against the AL East. I'm betting that 6-10 is the best that could be hoped for but if there's a schedule that's primed for tanking, this is it!
