    I can't see the Jays blowing their wad on a 40 year old pitcher for 3 years even if it is reigning CY winner Justin Verlander But who knows, maybe they have a bigger wad than we anticipated?

    Kikuchi had a rough year but he still projects as a 1.2 WAR pitcher and White put up 1.3 WAR last season and projects as a 0.8 WAR pitcher. Kikuchi started 20 games for the Jays last year and they still won 92 games, and White combined to start 18 games for last season for two playoff teams. I dunno man, if those are your projected 6th and 7th starters I think you're doing pretty good.

    Yeah, that'd be awesome. Sign an OFer (Conforto? Nimmo maybe?) Trade for a somewhat controllable young starter (Lopez?) Sign Senga Manoah Gausman Berrios Lopez Senga Kikuchi White Solid rotation depth that can spill over into the bullpen, and then you have guys like Tiedemann and Zulu really close too.

    The thought of adding another bat like that is sure fun, but with Espinal/Merrifield and possibly even Barger in the mix, sure seems like they'd be better off addressing the OF or starting rotation with that type of money. But WAR added is WAR added I guess.

    Xander isn't coming off a down year though looking for a show me contract like Semien was? Not sure if that's what you meant. I like Bo and all, but I would be fine with trading him for something we need if they can sign Bogaerts or Correa. A high end MLB SP or a young CF with control perhaps?

    Problem with Reynolds is he's coming off a 2.9 WAR season after putting up a 6.1 WAR season. Pirates will want value for the 2021 season, while bidders will be pointing squarely at the huge drop off last season. But yeah, switch hitting CFer in his prime would really fit the Jays like a glove right now. Too bad the Pirates aren't hard up for catchers, would sure help. Would friggen love to see some sort of blockbuster where we somehow get Bednar too.

    If the Jays can get Kodai Senga signed, I wonder if they just roll with Manoah/Gausman/Berrios and let Kikuchi/Senga/White battle for the two remaining SP spots. Maybe just sign some more AAAA type depth.

    Man the Jays current regime has done a s*** job of developing home grown OFs Too bad the they can't make the Teo trade to save money and just promote a top prospect to take his spot, then spend the $25-30 million a year on starting pitching.

    The only question mark on Pearson is his durability IMO If he's healthy, he's going to slay. His stuff is good enough. Sure would be nice if Merryweather could figure it out too, but I fear he's a victim of the sticky stuff crack down. He's been getting throttled when healthy, ever since MLB came down on that. I really hope the Jays have enough in the budget to bring in another decent starter. Not sure I'm confident in any of the starters after Gausman and Manoah. Trying to fill the remaining 3 spots with Berrios, Kikuchi, White and .......... uh, yeah...seems like a huge mistake.

    I don't see any way the Jays trade more than one of their catchers this off season. Especially if Jansen was the one they kept, who also has the worst injury history.

    Any word on if Bellinger will be non tendered or not? I wonder if he would be a bargain bin target for the Jays for the CF they could use now? I don't know if I could stomach watching him try to get his offensive mojo back as a Jay.

    If we get 2022 Swanson going forward, this is an awesome trade IMO Plus now we get to see how they go about replacing Teo in the OF, I don't see any internal options so it'll likely be a FA signing or trade.

    Well the rumor was Bo plus prospects for Acuna I think wasn't it? EDIT: MLB trade value simulator has Bichette and Acuna both at exactly 94.1 median value.

    Sign Correa and trade Bo for Acuna? Yes please lol Imagine upgrading SS like that, massively upgrading the OF like that, and then having Vladdy and Berrios bouncing back a couple fWAR each? 100+ win team probably

    Bichette led the team in fWAR and they made the playoffs while winning 92 games. There are better places to upgrade the team than SS, and I sure as heck wouldn't spend our excess catcher capital upgrading a position that doesn't really need an upgrade lol
