  1. Merryweather and Adrian Hernandez both pitched on rehab in Dunedin today, so that's good news. Just low A but both were dominant. Merryweather struck out 3 of 3 batters while Hernandez struck out 4 of 5 batters.
  2. What kind of stuff does Irv Carter have? Is he a flame thrower?
  3. "Certainly"? I would say maaaaaybe it's possible, but pretty far from certain. I doubt the Jays stay out of the starting pitching free agent market next off season when Kikuchi is currently slated to be their #4
  4. deGrom can opt out after this season? I wonder if he likes Canada? lol
  5. Shaddup you f***ing whiny bitch
  6. Hopefully the Jays bullpen issues are mostly behind them now. They have quite a few decent relievers now, and there are several supposedly decent ones climbing the ladder and getting close to their MLB debuts. Romano Garcia Mayza Bass Cimber Pop Richards White Merryweather Pearson All signed for next season at least, and then they have Juenger, Hernandez, Eisert and Spraker at AAA. Not to mention Tiedemann and Zulueta at AA and they might have to break into the league as relievers considering the Jays entire starting rotation is under contract next season too, at this point.
  7. lol this team just refuses to get on a sustained run this season. Win some, lose some, win a lot, lose a lot..... Going to be a dog fight for a wild card spot until the end I guess.
  8. Springer to the IL with elbow inflammation. Otto Lopez takes his roster spot
  9. He's already in AA so unless he gets injured or completely falls apart, I'm going to say yes we will see him with the Jays at some point next season.
  10. Nice to see Robberse with lots of K's His K-rate isn't high like the others, maybe he picked something up in the lab....or maybe it was just a good day.
  11. I didn't realize Zach Britton had been promoted to AA He's off to a torrid start there. Tonight he went 3 for 5 with a HR and a 2B. Currently has a 1.224 OPS in his first 19 AA at bats.
  12. Sure Soto would have been nice, but if Vlad and Bo start playing like 6+ and 5+ WAR players again that'll be enough to really make a push down the stretch.
  13. lol so we don't have to burn Atkins at the stake for the chicken littles who actually thought he might trade assets for a player may never have played in Toronto? Shocking
  14. Seems like too many Pardihno types in the system that have strong stuff and command but lack velocity. Then most of the high velocity guys that get lots of swing and miss also have really high walk rates lol I guess most systems are filled with these two types. That's why it sucks to see a guy like Frasso get traded because he has the stuff, the velocity and the control. Be interesting to see how he does when the Dodgers bump him up to AA
  15. Yes it was a good trade, I'm still disappointed Frasso is gone though.
  16. lol holy s*** man easy on the hyperbole I think one guy somewhere said Atkins should lose his job if they don't make run this year Haven't seen anyone claim Atkins should be fired for trading Frasso Jays don't have many guys in their system who can hit triple digits and are K-ing 14 guys per 9 innings pitched. Some of us were excited to follow his progression and are disappointed he's now gone.
  17. It's kind of funny that White has 1.2 fWAR over the last two seasons with just over 100 IP and yet the Dodgers had him tucked away in AAA. Why was he down there anyways? His 0.7 fWAR this season puts him nearly in the lead for fWAR in the Jays pen, Romano has 0.8 fWAR, Garcia and Phelps have 0.7 fWAR
  18. We just carved a bunch of s*** out of our pen, hopefully it can stay that way.
  19. The Jays added 3 pitchers today with a combined 2.4 fWAR this season and subtracted 3 pitchers with a combined -0.3 fWAR
  20. The average age in high A is 22.4 years old. Frasso has the 7th best xFIP in the NW league and only 2 of the other top 10 pitchers in that league are younger than he is. I guess time will tell whether or not he's a real prospect.
  21. High A, and he is dominating. Like, really dominating.
  22. Passing off Frasso as a "23 year old pitcher in A ball" is f***ing disingenuous to say the least. He's absolutely f***ing destroying HIGH A ball with an elite repertoire and is probably a **** hair away from jumping to AA which would be his 3rd level this season coming off of TJS. I like the acquisition of White for sure, but I am also disappointed in losing a pitching prospect like Frasso.
  23. The Jays weren't going to trade their way into being a "top team" like the Yankees or Dodgers today. For that to happen they will need Vlad and Bo to go back to being 6 and 5 fWAR players more than anything else. But make no mistake, this team IS good enough to win the world series right now. Just have to get to the playoffs and be somewhat hot when they get there.
