  1. All right. I vented, I'm done crying in my soup. Fact is, the Jays are still in this fight and worked their asses off all year to have home advantage for moments like these. Two wins in a row is EFF ALL for this team. They swept those pesky Rays at home to clinch 1st in the AL. They got this! Yesavage was "built for this"
  2. f*** me i still can't believe it. The Mariners were completely scuffling at the plate for 3 straight games and for some reason our manager decided to give them a free rally in a 1 run game and give all the momentum back at a crucial tipping point of the series. My mind is blown. I bet even Little couldn't believe he was getting the ball. This team is resilient, but holy moly they must be struggling to keep their heads up right now.
  3. Not even I can defend JS decision to go with Little in that spot. Crazy ass call dude. Now the Jays are finally and truly faced with a "must win game". Two of them in fact.
  4. This deep run the Jays are on, a team that is roughly 90% under control and coming back again, a stellar defense, and the ability to spend big money likely makes the Jays an enticing team for starting pitchers to sign with. Bieber with a front row seat right now too. Gives up 2 runs in the 1st, next thing he knows he's up 12-2 mid game in the ALCS. He's gotta be liking that. I could see the Jays signing a top of the rotation type, and then trading for a reclamation project type of guy that they can get for pennies on the dollar and then help fix him. Someone like Alcantara maybe.
  5. It sucks that Bo got injured but it's certainly given us a good look into a future without him. If he walks, the situation is far from dire. In fact, at this point I'd probably let him walk and look to pour the free agent dollars into starting pitching. I don't think I'd even chase any FA outfielder either. The team looks pretty set both now and in the future all over the diamond and bullpen. Just need some stud starters like Bieber and Cease.
  6. I hope this is what happens. I think Bieber will have some very good years ahead.
  7. This is baseball. 7 games is short.
  8. Going to be hard to beat a team that has 4 legit ace pitchers now that Snell, Ohtani and Glasnow are healthy and on point.
  9. Everybody talks about the randomness of baseball in small sample sizes. Well, the playoffs are a small sample size. To top it off, all the teams in the playoffs are good teams, proven over a huge sample size of a 162 game regular season. The best team doesn't always win in the playoffs, and you need to be more than just good to win, you also need some good fortune as well. The most important thing is to bulld a team that is good enough to make the playoffs multiple times in a 5 to 10 year period, and eventually you should break through and win it all because at some point luck will break your way.
  10. Agreed, but the whiners have to pin it on somebody and the Jays will once again be a crappy team that got lucky all year. Also, Shatkins and Schneider will need to be immediately catapulted into the sun. In truth though, the bones of this team will still be in tact. If they can't turn this series around, build the rotation back up in the off season, tweak the rest of the roster a little, and try to make the playoffs for the 5th time in 7 years and hope they take another step in the post season.
  11. After almost 30 pitches in the 1st Miller is through 4 with 50. Terrible job by the Jays batters. Some bad luck too i guess, but still. Let's get cracking here.
  12. If anything i feel bad for Bo. Guy was having a nice bounce back year and has been here since the start of the Shatkins era as a key piece. It has to suck for him that he can't be a part of this now that they've finally reach the ALCS. Especially since he might not be back.
  13. Obviously it isn't a must win game, but Miller vs Gausman at home, a well rested team, and what should be a worn out Mariners team, feels like a game you have to win. Especially since 3 of the next 4 will be on the road. Although, we did sweep them in Seattle earlier this season IIRC.
  14. Every other team has multiple aces? Anyways, Gausman has pitched like an Ace in the past. Bieber was an Ace who won a cy young. So far Yesavage has looked 100% like an Ace. All 3 of them are capable of putting up an Ace like performance on any given night.
  15. Party hard fellas. 4 bottles of the bubbly each
  16. Kahnle? This game is soon over haha
  17. Yes! Extra innings!
  18. Both aces pitch absolute gems. Both leave the game with the lead. Neither bullpen can hold the lead for even a single inning.
  19. Would be nice if the Ms could tie this up and then have the game go about 20 innings or so.
  20. I was hard on Vlad for sure, all I could see was a guy flopping around like a beached whale at 2nd base after being picked off as the trail runner to end the Jays season. This version of playoff Vladdy I like much better, and hopefully he is here to stay.
  21. Cubs about to force a game 5. If they can knock off the Brew crew the Jays would have home advantage for the World Series after winning the ALCS
  22. The panic was real. Wow
  23. Jays in the ALDS: Clement 324 wRC+ Vlad 324 wRC+ Varsho 302 wRC+ Schneider 188 wRC+ Straw 167 wRC+ Lukes 130 wRC+ Kirk 123 wRC+ Barger 109 wRC+ Springer 89 wRC+ Giminez 84 wRC+ Santander 7 wRC+ IKF -100 wRC+
  24. Anyone else thinking that the wishy washy Bieber performance so far may result in him triggering his player option so he can have a full season in front of this Jays D to build his value before going to market? He's probably still shaking the rust off from being out a year and a half.
