  1. I'll go with Snider unless you count Austin Martin
  2. Babies are expensive and major league salary is much nicer than minor league salary.
  3. Maybe they are targeting Ross with this showcase?
  4. Arenado on why he vetoed a trade to the Astros. “[Kyle Tucker] is one of the best players in the game,” said Arenado, via The Athletic’s Chandler Rome. “When you see a team trade him, 99 out of 100 players would probably be wondering, ‘What does that mean?’ That’s the question I asked myself. And obviously if I went there, [Alex] Bregman wouldn’t have been going there — that’s another player.” This definitely shows that not having Vlad or Bo locked up would have been hurting the Jays in negotiations trying to convince players to come play in Toronto. Hopefully with Vlad locked up that changes.
  5. who you take in the draft should not be impacted by the minor league or major league rosters one bit. Take the best player available regardless of position.
  6. That lineup is disgusting...and not in the good way.
  7. It worked for the Royals in 2015
  8. I must say, I absolutely love this picture. Bravo to whomever did it.
  9. Small sample size alert, but Kirk's metric on defense have ticked back this year too so far. I know I've certainly noticed some balls getting by him that wouldn't have in past years. He has been a bit faster at least. That's been my biggest concern is having a station to station singles hitter is not ideal.
  10. The CBA (as far as competitive balance tac is concerned) really needs to have something in it to balance the tax differences for different teams.
  11. Something that occurred to me this week. Vlad doesn’t bring much to the table other than his bat and I am not sure anyone would argue that he has a better bat than Yordan but is getting paid much more with a far larger guarantee. Him and Antony took the Jays to the proverbial cleaners.
  12. Gotta get in the lineup to go yard. I miss the days where guys played everyday.
  13. I can't see this happening at this point. Scherzer also probably needs the time between starts to recover at this point.
  14. MAybe we should try him leading off ;) ?
  15. What makes this even worse is the fact they haven't exactly been facing tough starters thus far.
  16. So depending on where you place the value of 1 WAR, he is either already costing more than his value or just barely providing excess value. Not what you want in a mega contract that will most definitely age poorly.
  17. What a masterclass in how not to negotiate a long term extension this was from Atkins/Shapiro. The last half of this one is going to be painful and I hope I am wrong but I'm not sure Vlad has the profile to provide excess value in the early years due to his position and defensive/baserunning shortcomings.
  18. The one I found was just that Ketel Marte was using a similar bat since around 2019.
  19. Someone needs to draw a $500 million dollar check on the inside half of the plate to draw his attention away from the outside junk.
  20. Davis Schneider needs to be off this roster.
  21. Torpedo bats have been around for far longer than two years. The new piece of this puzzle is that they are analyzing the swings and where the players hit the ball on the bat typically and fully customizing the placement of the barrel for their players. Brilliant if you ask me.
  22. I will go to my grave believing that Royals team was stealing/relaying signs in the late innings. Too many games where the bats came alive in the late innings.
