  1. One of the drivers for this change is to cut down on travel and to create more west/west matchups in the early rounds of the playoffs so I don’t think point 3 in your list of splitting same city/state teams will weigh heavily if at all if Manfred gets his way.
  2. Rogers haas been pretty great this year with more bWAR than Stowers despite missing a lot of time. Had the O's been competing like they were expected to this trade wouldn't look all that bad...at least not until Rogers is a FA.
  3. JRod seems to be a second half guy. He was really slow out of the gate last year too. His career first half/second half splits are quite different.
  4. So it's your fault if he is out for an extended period then?
  5. The irony being that emotional dysregulation is a pretty big symptom of AD-HD, which is how a good portion of MLB players get exemptions for Amphetamines, which really help hitting a lot.
  6. This is the dude that slapped Joc Pedereson on the filed over a fantasy football dispute. I think it is safe to say he is a little unhinged.
  7. That card came out before the big boom in popularity that led to the oversaturation of the market. Likewise, Shohei and Trout rookie cards fetch a pretty Penny now as they debuted when the industry was down and less cards were made. As others pointed out, the inclusion of numbered cards now adds a new element where they should retain value and even increase. But even now with how many releases there are there are so many 1/1s kicking around too.
  8. So I collected a ton of Shaq and MJ cards including a ton of Shaq rookies back in the day thinking they would appreciate in value. They are mostly worth $1-2 each now if that. That happened during the boom and cards are in a boom period again now. I wouldn’t suggest it as an investment strategy.
  9. Isn't Eury Perez the pitcher you would want to miss over Alcantara?
  10. It is, but when you play outfield and the organization you are in has Tucker, Seiya, PCA and Happ how can you really argue it?
  11. Given that the Jays got Sanchez and now maybe Seo-Jun from not being able to sign Roki that turned out pretty well.
  12. Most teams struggle against good pitching…because the pitchers are good. We also had a stretch coming out of the break where they won games started by Ray, Webb, Fried and Rodon.
  13. Rose was banned after his playing days were over. He wasn't making the league any money at the time. Ohtani is a face of baseball and is bringing in all kinds of revenue for both the Dodgers and the league.
  14. I wonder if Manoah's pitch count got elevated by lots of foul balls? He had that issue after his near Cy season where he would get to two strikes early but then the lack of a true putaway pitch would run up the count until he was tired and a mistake was made.
  15. Cover athlete for MLB the Show.
  16. I'm not saying that is what I think happened, just that I'm not holding up the FBI as the shining example of truth and transparency
  17. If you don't think 30 billionaires could have some sway over the FBI, show me the Epstein files.
  18. team fandom trumps fantasy. I hope he gets rocked
  19. The Jays depth comes into play in game too as they can play matchups and platoons with all of their end of the bench guys and usually do so without burning multiple guys since they can shift people all over the diamond.
  20. Interesting that his last game he came in relief too (still 89 pitches so not a full on relief appearance). It makes you wonder what they might be considering in September?
  21. I can tell you all the women I knew really liked watching Gruber back then.
  22. Aww, first blown call and they save the ball. It's always fun seeing a right of passage.
  23. Oh, can you imagine how much Beeg and strong conversation we would get about Barger!
  24. It's funny, every time my daughter sees me watching a game with him doing the announcing she complains about how annoying his voice is.
  25. First to come to mind for me was Doc...it's so sad we never got to see team success with him around. Carter was my favourite as a kid I would say. He's got two iconic moments ending the two World Series victories. It's also hard not to include Delgado or Bautista
