  1. It could just be me, but I found it hard to be excited about the jays drafting a couple of hit first, low strikeout, low power guys.
  2. Think back to 3 punchies Manoah in the all star game and how he might play up coming out of the pen perhaps for this year at least?
  3. Brewers owner is probably pissed thinking about what that all star appearance will add to his arb year contracts.
  4. He has reverse splits this year and last so not sure he is the bat they are looking for.
  5. I wonder how much he would benefit from an upgrade from Augustin Ramirez (still learning how to catch by all reports) to Kirk. I feel like that alone could be significant for him.
  6. Yesavage is too much to give up for them imo but I could see any of those others guys (not sure they get it done but it is the Pirates so you never know)
  7. I started reading this quote and thought it was referring to Vlad's bat waking up.
  8. I am of the opinion that the increased workload is good for Kirk. I noticed many times over the years he would have little hot streaks around the time Jansen would get hurt (and his playing time would increase). I think someone in the Jays management chain incorrectly assumed since he is a bigger guy he needed more rest and more time off despite the success he had in his early years playing more frequently. It's a shame that those assumptions were made.
  9. Scherzer being here (and hopefully speaking highly of it) could help with that as him and Degrom have played together a fair amount.
  10. Clement is already playing every day against lefties anyway so if you put him at 2B then Barger or Wagner have to play against a lefty. I would bet this is one of the reasons they are looking for a right handed bat though.
  11. I knew it was going to happen and get it but it is a shame to see Estrada rewarded with being optioned for pitching a solid 4 innings.
  12. The Straw trade has been great too despite the shitkicking he took from the league and fans at the time.
  13. The irony is the Yankees want him so Jazz doesn’t have to play a poor 3B…but despite being his primary position Suarez is not a better defender there.
  14. In a cruel twist by the baseball gods it will be right after trout leaves or retires
  15. Who knew a walk off sac bunt could be so exciting?
  16. Not really, they do that to ensure it doesn’t have a chance to come fair again.
  17. Are these fugly hats due to Independence Day? I am sure Independence Day Jays hats will sell like ice cream in Alert given the current political climate.
  18. This is why an infielder will immediately pick up or swipe at a ball that goes foul when they want it to.
  19. They did it yesterday instead as they wanted to make sure a win yesterday wouldn't change their tone (and to take July 4th off)
  20. Chris Sale could get there. He's only off by about 475. A young guy like Skenes could get there one day too.
