  1. I only saw a clip, but when is some media going to have the balls to actually call him out for his BS. It is not like it is just 40 games, it is a 200 game sample!
  2. The problem with this is, is that it was evident the team had an offensive issue prior to the 2023 deadline. Nothing was done. The issue continued into the playoffs. Then nothing was done to improve the team in the 2023 off season. So, I think we are saying the same thing up to a point. Where we differ is, the body of work that created the reasons nothing was done at two key points in the trade and off season cycle. The Jays had nothing to trade without robbing Peter to pay Paul. The Yankees drafted way better then us and had 4 very solid pitchers they could send for Sotto and still have enough left to be first in the AL East. All this without Cole. They also have Spencer and Dominguez who can either help the MLB team or are really good trade chips. The Yankees also have Warren waiting in the wings on the pitcher side, probably comparable to Ricky T. The Jays bet on hitters regressing to the norm. One, I question the norm for Vlad and Kirk. Two, ok, lets say all the hitters do get better, we used something like 9 SPs last year, unheard of in this day and age when the average is something like 16 per year. We knew eventually that would change. I believe we will see issues with SPs as the season goes on. Kickuvhi has never had strong second halfs. The dog days of August will probably get to 40 yr old Turner, if not sooner. IKF, Biggio and Clement should be bench backups only, and we knew that in the offseason. Yet they are playing full time roles on the team. Vladdy is not a good defensive 1b in total body of work. It was apparent many other teams were going to better this year in our division and the AL. So a team just staying on par for a WC3 was’t going to cut it. That is all the off season did, hope and prey the team would replicate production lost by FAs. Additionally, Teo did want to play here and would have if the $ would have been here. So I was extremely happy with 2022 off season moves as far as Varsho, Bassitt and even Belt. The issue I have is what this team has done and their failure to create conditions for success since June 2023 when obvious we had a major problem.
  3. We will hear the team is battling and close games and just need some things to go our way and the projections are blah blah blah.. The thing is, it is not a SSS. It is since June of last year this team has been this way!!
  4. If there is any accountability on the baseball performance side he should go. He is 100% in charge of baseball decisions also.
  5. Even if signs of life, very well could be a false positive. Weakest schedule they have all year and 6 games against the CWS.
  6. If only people would actually quote what he said instead of what they “heard from someone” that he said.
  7. No issues with anyone's trot. Only when they go Peacock...
  8. I will say that it is way too early to make a conclusion on Nimmala. He is also 3 yrs younger than average for A ball.
  9. To be fair, I don't think you would need to cheat to get a no no against the Jays.
  10. Mark to Alex: You left the cupboard bare by makeing the playoff run and the most exciting Jays second half since 1993. Fans to Mark: You have been here 9 years, the cupboard is bare, the baseball is boring and you stink.
  11. I really want to see this data that says give the current version of George Springer the most ABs per game, game after game up to this point.
  12. Going to put this here again for those who missed it in the pre-season. Volgelbach must have nude pics of all the GMs or something. https://nypost.com/2023/10/04/buck-showalter-mets-brass-butted-heads-over-daniel-vogelbach/?utm_source=url_sitebuttons&utm_medium=site%20buttons&utm_campaign=site%20buttons
  13. Springer is like a cockroach in the leadoff spot. You just can’t get rid of him.
  14. Put a dick in it, that will help.
  15. So there really was a whole Japanese restaurant booked for Ohtani during his FA. https://www.sfgate.com/food/article/sf-japanese-restaurant-akari-shohei-ohtani-19450926.php
  16. The Twinkies knew that (as do all) , hence the steady diet of high fastballs Jr could not connect with in the playoffs last year.
  17. I was going to say that. Our "aircraft carrier" shoots missiles not many bombs.
  18. So wait...? If you are a "Real Jays fan", you don't complain, and if you complain about a s*** product you are not a real fan? The Yankees fans and media don't accept mediocrity and apply pressure to the ownership, FO and players that they want a winner year in year out. The Yankees might not provide a winner year in year out, but the fans sure do expect it. Yet in TO, if you complain we don't have a winner, you are not "real fan". I have been a Jays fan since you were still swimming in your test tube. The Real OF. I guess this explains why the Leafs sell out night after night yet provide mediocrity.
  19. First step to solving a problem, is admitting you have a problem. We have had the same problem since June of 2023. We failed to address it at the trade deadline. We failed to address it in the off season. We have failed to address it 40 games into the 2024 season. This all in the context of a division and league where our direct competition has raised the bar and will be getting reinforcements as the season goes on. The FO is behind the curve and failed to recognize the competitive realties going on around us in the WC3 calculation.
  20. That's racist
  21. Romano was good in save situations, sucked last year when entered the game tied or a non-save situation. Those situations cost us a lot of games. I am fine with Romano as our closer, but always thought we needed a hedge. I was hoping Green and Hicks would be that last year this year. Obviously we lost Hicks. Swanson is/was maybe a set up guy, couldn't get the job done as a closer in SEA. Yimi looked like he could be our hedge, but his increased velocity plus age equals non-sustainability. His body fought back and now IL. Basically, we need Romano to be elite or we are screwed with the average amount of runs we score.
  22. All I get from this post once you get past the political and class rambling is baseball is hard. I see no accountability in your posts and understanding that the FOs job and sole objective is to be better than 29 other teams every year. Winning the WS and how you are moving towards that goal is the only metric that counts. The Jays FO has not moved the needle on that metric in 7 years. Time for accountability. Not sure what line of work you are in, but I suspect not very results oriented. Results matter.
  23. JS is chief turd polisher. No matter how much you polish it, it’s still a turd.
