  1. Why are the A's not PH Gelof, do they not want to win or WTF?
  2. He is one of the most expensive acquisition cost RPs if not the, in baseball at the moment.
  3. I really think we f***ed him up and he lost confidence. It took his Dad to get involved and get him back on track and gain that confidence back and let him play relaxed, which brings out his best.
  4. I think you are making my point why I don't think we should sign him to an extension
  5. Really with Varsho's D and some really clutch hits/base running etc, this Team would be waaaay worse off without Varsho. He has been pretty key in a lot of games this year.
  6. Jays have one inning to tie or go ahead. Then it's Miller time and not talking Miller Lite.
  7. We are lucky that the majority of the A's hitters fnnn suck!!
  8. Every year without fail, we are all wrong and blown away by how much an FA gets vs what we thought they would get. 10/250 only = AAV of 25 mil. That is the minimum he will get per year anyway. Then if any competition or incentive to make Vlad forgo FA, you have to give the additional years. If you want to go only 7 or 5 yrs, you better get that AAV way up.
  9. Yea, longer contract at lower AAV or shorter at higher, I don’t think you have reviewed the comps for a 27 yr old FA with Vlad’s numbers regardless of SLG% this year. You are starting out by having to beat his arb years and giving him long term security, correct? What number do you think will do it? Vlad is looking at $25 mil in Arb for 2025 at this rate. Unless you go into it willing to spend big dollars, you better trade him now! The worst thing that can happen is Vlad walks and we get nothing. A la Trevor Story that the Rockies royally f***ed up.
  10. How are you going to get him to forgo FA and not offer him a 7–10 yr deal at higher then he is making in Arb?? You realize how much he will make in Arb this year? While Vlad might like Toronto and come from money, he is not going to take some deep discount and his agent and MLBPA wouldn’t let him.
  11. So, $26-$35 million AAV over 7-10 years for a Luis Arreaz type who plays sub 1b D, has a scary body type and has still not yet shown a lot lf baseball maturity or leadership who you are making your franchise cornerstone. I would rather 3 players who help improve the capitol T Team.
  12. I just got semi-chub. Shaw, Triantos and Horton in a deal and I would pay for Vlad’s airfare also;)
  13. Exactly!!! So to my point, it came down to $$$ for 2024 and not because we didn’t offer him a multi year deal and someone else did, or he didn’t want to be a Blue Jay.
  14. The only point I am trying to make, which has been reported by multiple sources, is that the Blue Jays would not match the Dodger’s offer, which was a one year deal. This is not to advocate anything in hindsight. It is to set this misnomer straight that the Jays could have only signed Teo to a multi year deal. It ultimately came down to $ amount on a one year deal.
  15. All three things can be true Spank. No one offered him multi year. The Jays would not match the Dodgers one year offer. Obviously if the Dodgers have a better offer on any one year deals he is going to choose the Dodgers for best $ offer and all the other items he mentioned. Fact is, the Jays did not/would not match the 1 yr offer to even give him something to think about. It was not because of no multi year deal.
  16. Who is BS?? The Dodgers didn’t offer a multi year deal. The Blue Jays would not match the 1 yr deal. Fact. The Jays did not lose Teo because of years, it was $$$.
  17. Hernández had a somewhat weak market, but there were a few teams interested in his services. One of those clubs was the Blue Jays, but decided not to match what the Dodgers offered Hernández, via Shi Davidi of Sportsnet: “At the beginning, they said to not forget about them. Obviously when we exchanged numbers and years and all that stuff, they said they could not go that far. That was about it.” - Teo From the Dodgers Blue website
  18. Actually, Teo said the Jays would not match the 1 yr deal.
  19. If there is a toll, is it really a freeway? Just saying
  20. There was an SI article 2 days ago saying that Houston had reached out. Then today this, and on Bauer’s IG he goes into a cap store and selects an Astros hat. The SLG Network WWW.FACEBOOK.COM Houston Astros watched Trevor Bauer throw a bullpen today. (Per multiple sources) Also this from about the same time as the SI story. https://www.yardbarker.com/mlb/articles/amid_swirling_rumors_could_astros_entertain_signing_trevor_bauer/s1_17069_40452214
  21. The Astros were on hand to watch Trevor Bauer bullpen session today.
  22. Going from the Yankees was JP Sears who is another solid SP the Yankees developed and were able to utilize as a trade asset. I think we miss Sears this series right?
  23. Yea, we saw the effect this had on Varsho last year getting thrown into the clean up spot from the get go. I would do the gradual move up in the line up, but that is just me..
