  1. Listen to AA talk about getting his ball club where they want to be and teasing trades. What AA gives you compared to Atkins in an interview, is not even in the same universe. https://omny.fm/shows/cellini-and-dimino/braves-gm-president-alex-anthopoulos?
  2. He might give us some much needed swagger Nothing like fighting alongside your buddies to create a bonding experience
  3. So I found this out after a call at my son's little league game a few weeks ago. The base line to home plate does not correspond to the white line on the field. It has to do with the line the runner is taking relative to where the catcher is setting up. It was really interesting to know that, and it explains why I thought a runner who appeared way outside the baseline was not called out in the game.
  4. Yup. I thought we had a much more realistic chance at Soto than Ohtani in the off season. The Yankees, a team who were not a cellar dweller, used homegrown talent and pitching at that, to acquire Soto. The Yankees still have solid rotation even without Cole. The reason that Ross didn't have many FA options in the off season is because that was the only isle he could really shop in. That goes to to the totality of his body of work over 9 years.
  5. Like AA says, we need to look at run differential as we get closer to the dead line. *Also don’t let huge runs put up against Nastrani (AA pitcher) X2 plus the emergency last minute call up from AAA fool you.
  6. True, but he is not going to play for free or on a short term deal. He might not get close to what he was/is anticipating. His agent and MLPA won’t allow him to give some sweet heart deal even if Vlad want’s to.
  7. Or this is the Jays leaking so when they move Bo and Vlad they can say they tried to negotiate extensions and couldn’t reach an agreement and they had to move on.
  8. I am more referring to Vlad set up deep at 3b and they drop a bunt down the third base line and he has to charge it, bare hand it and throw on the run.
  9. If I were the Pirates I would bunt the s*** out of the ball with fast RHH until Vladdy can prove he can throw me out.
  10. Yea, this has to be to be able to get a Bison in the lineup. I am secretly hoping also showcasing for trade
  11. And the 8 Ball says...... NO
  12. Where did you come from, Where did you go, what are you doing Connor Joe!!??
  13. The Jay's longest winning streak in 2023 was 5 games. Let's see if they can match that!
  14. Yes. However, he was acquired because he was an area of need. I don't see who/how they replaced his role/capabilities in the off season or since. Hicks gave you essentially 4 guys who could be setup or closers. In reality Swanson never excelled at the closer role and Yimy prior this year had a so so record as closer. If you look at a series of close games from the 7th inning to 9. We need that Hicks type pitcher who can slot into set up or closer. Especially after Romano goes back to back etc, even prior to him going on the IL. We did not do an adequate job of replacing that role. Mayza, Cabrera, Pearson, Richards etc are not that role.
  15. Who was the projected replacement for Hicks?
  16. but, but, but we have Mitch White in case an SP goes down.
  17. This is where it would be nice to have Cody Poteet who the Yankees got for depth for nada.
  18. And MLB announced teams will stop flying and drive to away games!!! lol Hernandez was seen on the Boeing inspection line yelling SAFE! LMAO
  19. https://babylonbee.com/news/retired-angel-hernandez-gets-new-job-running-quality-control-for-boeing?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR3wTgO--zknfNTTtSsV0PM4yGlWutg8WdLlSnzkcbDXMELiobuC30XXqug_aem_AcjMFxJe2Y_hOspClIbbdUz22BYHGrQgtZxlSyH4UkpympYWuhOX4b-7-YFyLcoQs2ZGu4HbnILt7BOknMgdZREn More Angel Hernandez news.
  20. AP: Reports are coming out that Angel Hernandez's retirement came out from a meeting with top MLB officials. Officials were questioning Hernandez's ability to see and comprehend correctly. Angel got so worked up that he stormed out and slammed the door behind himself. It took Angel 10 minutes to realize he was in the closet...His announcement of retirement came soon after.
  21. This is exactly correct. Hence why I wonder WTF this team is doing sometimes. After Babe Schneider hit a game winning HR in Houston the previous night, he was benched. After Clement was on a heater early season and benched, the reason given was putting guys in situations they can have success, or setting them up for success. Then, after a short ST and very short rehab where Swanson had not performed well, they call him up and his first game action of the year is a high leverage situation against the New York Yankees. Then, they call up poor Adison Barger and stick him in LF for his first time in his first MLB game. Not a position he was even playing in the minors. Shortly thereafter, we have a key situation with runners on base late in the game and we could either tie or go ahead in a close game. They leave Volgebach in to face a lefty when we had JT on the bench along with other RHH, (back when JT was on tear, and we don't PH. I can go on with these examples. So from one side of their mouth the Jays talk about putting guys in situations for success, and the other hand they f*** over Swanson, Barger and Volgelbach, et all the Team and the fans. Plus leaving Springer in the leadoff spot for 1/4 of the season, I just don't know WTF is going on with the asset management and this team. Don't let 2 Ws against the CWS and a AA pitcher and an emergency sub from the minors fool you.
  22. This is a AA batting practice pitcher. No reason for the Jays to lose this one.
