    He apparently sucks on D which is an issue the CWS had with him and getting his bat in the lineup. So, most likely DH until Springer gets back and then assess from there.

    I admittedly have not looked at Okamoto's defensive metrics. However, I was listening to MLB radio all day when we signed him (when Bo might have still come back) and while he plays and can play 3B. He is supposedly not great on D and it would not be ideal. Akin to having Santander and Teo in the OF. If you are talking about a team that run prevention is equally paramount and that does not make a lot of errors, apparently,Okamoto is not the best choice at 3B.

    When Springer leaves, Santander should go to the DH spot. he would be there now if it weren't for Springer. Also,the new Japanese guy is supposedly not good on D at 3B and ICR how is is in the OF, I would assume passable at 31/32, but not ideal. So that leaves Varsho and Luke as guys who should really be in the OF everyday. *Caveat is assuming Barger is playing 3B??

    I see Varsho as an extension candidate. However, yes, I am worried about the OF in general next year, not just CF. Hence Tucker would have been such a key addition on an 8-10 yr deal.

    Yea, but at the end of the day we didn't score more runs than the other Team and we lost. We need to be able to score more runs this year in a 5-7 game series and IMPROVE on last year. Clement was in rare air and that ain't going to happen again... We need more offense!

    Yea, if Orioles get it going with their additions and everyone they have coming back from injury.. They could probably woop up on us a bunch of games every series.

    Sproat is the best piece. Jett is probably a light hitting speedster type when all said and done. The Mets got Myers too who is a solid SP.

    I think so too. I really think it was probably the Mets hanging around nibbling on Bellinger which was holding up a Yankees reunion.

    Well, we can stop the Bellinger speculation. I still strongly believe the Blue Jays need to add another bat and potential closer. Unless the FO is interested in Suarez, I guess it will be through trade. If you assess subtractions vs additions, I don't think there is substantial improvement from last year yet. Andrew Friedman told the media before this years WS, that the key to continuous success and to repeating a WS or to win three WS in a row is not to be complacent and think that last year's team is/was good enough.

    I really didn't think he was going anywhere other than the Yankees. Everything else was just posturing and a game of chicken.

    Indiana penalties in the last 2 mins gave Miami every opportunity, but Carson Beck threw it away. So happy for Fernando Mendoza, what a great guy!
