  1. Bassitt was fighting it all day today.
  2. Pulled a rabbit out of our asses there. Make em pay!
  3. As if every fan base is not exactly the same.
  4. Well said, this is what I try to explain to people, especially last year. Pitching depth in the rotation and the bullpen is great in the regular season but in the postseason your front three and back four in the bullpen will primarily determine your success, and when you match up against the other playoff teams a lot of the pitching advantage disappears completely because even if you're 4 and 5 are better, even if you're five six and seven in the bullpen are better, it really doesn't matter much. Trying to win with just pitching and defense won't get it done unless you have multiple aces in your rotation and at least a couple of elite arms in the pen. We don't have this.
  5. I think everything is going pretty much as most expected in general. Pitching mostly pretty good, hitting meh. Brutal division. Gausman is due to rise, Berrios due for a correction in the opposite direction. Kuch is an X-factor, he's got ace potential, but he's got to prove it over a full season. Yariel is another X-factor, is he just a guy or something more? No real surprises otherwise, except maybe Varsho being on a heater, I have no idea if that means anything yet.
  6. They are freak injuries and many of them are because he gets hit by pitches which he's trying to address. You can't go forward with that mentality, he's got to be number one. Kirk should probably play more than the typical backup, specifically because of his framing, but this lineup needs a bit more thump and while I would have preferred better options than this I'd rather have Belt than Vogelbach. Belt could also play some first base to get him in there, Vlad should play less than he does. Obviously with the addition of Turner, Belt still won't play as consistently as last year, but he would play more than he's playing right now.
  7. DH. It's clear at this point that Jano should be starting most games and Kirk should only be a pinch hitter in those games.
  8. Nice to win the series! Could be a tough one tomorrow.
  9. I'm convinced that Brandon Belt slept with Schneider's wife.
  10. Well this is going better than the Leaves.
  11. I don't know how do teams like the Yankees and the Astros and the Rays etc manage to find multiple arms when they have injury issues and we can't? We came into the season knowing full well Alek might not be an option right? He sucked last year, there was no guarantee he wasn't going to suck this year. We lost Ryu right? So we really didn't know for sure what we were going to do with our fifth starter. For now, Yariel is working, through two starts, we'll see, might be a banger of a signing, and if it is full credit, but even if he's a good fifth guy, he apparently has an innings limit. So we still don't even have a long-term plan for our fifth starter let alone any depth beyond that. Other teams either develop that depth or they get veteran pieces that they know can fill in and give them some decent outings if they need them. I will give them FULL credit if Yariel ends up being a good pitcher, great, but it still doesn't address the depth issue. We still don't have a long-term plan for fifth starter, and we have no good options for any depth beyond that. Our only real plan seems to be hope that Alek can be good again or hope that one of our mediocre journeyman can fill in. I was hoping for something a little more than that.
  12. It's almost as if the Blue Jays should have got out and acquired some PROVEN pitching depth since they clearly can't develop it. But who expects a GM to ever think about such trivial things?
  13. Our minor league pipeline is one of the 10 worst in baseball, there's pretty much universal agreement on that, there's not a lot of exciting prospects. I don't know who's telling you otherwise. I guess minor league systems are ultimately subjective but you're the only one that seems to think it's anywhere close to subjectively good.
  14. Bipolar is pretty accurate, I guess it's not random in this case it would be based on wins and losses but you get the point. The only problem is not power, It's a lack of good enough hitters and the fact that a false franchise player who also happens to be one of the dumbest morons in the league continues to take up valuable space in an important part of the lineup. Starting pitching is good, but as was the case last year, probably not good enough to carry a mediocre offense. Bullpen, probably pretty good as well. I still think the leadership of this organization is not good enough and the dearth of minor league talent becomes more glaring every year. It's especially sad when you consider that we had a great GM and the idiot Shapiro chased him away.
  15. Do you suggest we be bipolar? When they win the Jays are the greatest thing in the world and when they lose they're s***? Those are the worst types of fans honestly. All those quotes you pointed out are all true, win or lose. But hey, I'm happy to win. It's also very annoying btw when fans, not naming names, wink wink, continue to ignore the obvious flaws in this team and organization and pretend like they're a championship caliber organization when they aren't.
  16. I thought he sucked after they returned. Didn't all his numbers start to plummet? Nonetheless, he's s*** and unserious.
  17. How do you like the non-existent minor league development of pitching while we're at it?
  18. He's not the guy who showed up for 4 months in mostly minor league ballparks a few years back. He's The fairly mediocre player he's been at every other point in his career. Those 4 months were the exception.
  19. I know it's a 5-1 game but f*** that was depressing.
  20. You are on the internet man, you can get much more than that if you really need it.
  21. I don't need them to be the 9th inning guy, I need him to get the best part of the lineup late in games, and that's what he did.
  22. Are they still PED testing in baseball? Because Yimi must be slipping the system.
  23. I was hoping to trade him before last season. Wishful thinking I know but imagine what we could have received.
