    Indeed the team owes the fans nothing if they get bonked, but I don't agree that it sets a bad precedent. It rarely ever happens that somebody gets hit really bad especially these days with all the netting, I think it's a good faith gesture to your fan base to at least give them an autographed ball or have them meet their favorite Blue Jay or something. It's not really a big ask.

    I don't mind the extra wild card spots, I think everybody's goal should be to try to win a world series, and for teams that think they have the horses to do so by all means get in any way you can, but we don't have the horses. So our path to the world series starts with a rebuild. Like I said, the 2021 team made a push and that team had the horses, I would have been very happy for that team to sneak in.

    Bingo! Can we not continue spinning our wheels as, at best, a pretty good team? 40% of teams make the playoffs in baseball. It doesn't mean you are special or great. It's one thing if we were a super talented team that just had a cold start or had significant injuries which caused us to have to sneak in as WC3, like we tried to do in 2021, but we are just a mediocre team that would need to get lucky just to get WC3 but have no real shot of winning anything. Thinking otherwise would only delay the inevitable and cost us value with whatever assets we do have to use to build what is hopefully a real future contender.

    Well that was all very interesting. I don't even think I feel emotion anymore watching these games.

    Springer should bunt for a hit. Then they'll get angry at him breaking up a perfecto like that, they'll hit a batter to retaliate. Then we might finally get something going.

    Part of me feels they absolutely deserve a kick to their complacency. A perfect game against a complete scrub could be the needle mover finally. But I can't bring myself to actually root for it to happen.

    I hate using streams and I've no interest in Apple TV in the slightest nor do I even know anybody that has a login I could use. Whatever, I found a stream and I'll deal with it.

    I don't remember if it was that season but I recall a match up between Josh Towers and Miguel Tejada with a runner on third and less than two outs with Towers trying to get the strike out. Tejada managed to get one in the air and drive the runner home, Josh was upset not to have struck him out and Tejada noticed Josh was upset and was insulted that Towers had the audacity to think that he should have struck him out and verbally ripped him a new hole on the way back to the dugout lol. In fairness it was pretty audacious for Towers to think he should be striking out Tejada in a run producing situation.

    What a season, Kevin f***ing Mench ending Doc's Cy Young season, Josh Towers forgetting that he's Josh Towers and becoming our de facto ace. And who can forget Chacin coming out of nowhere to give us 200 innings and then both of those scrubs falling off the face of the planet. Still far more entertaining than what we're watching this year.

    Even those two runs should have been a catch. Anyhow, not even that mad, the offense is what it is and it's not going to change so I really don't have much in the way of expectations.

    Watching Garcia transform into a god this year has been interesting.

    That's the thing, it's the fifth inning, do we really believe we have the bullpen to take this one home? You probably want to try to get as many outs from Kikuchi as you can.
