  1. Yeah but who would you want to run it back with? I really don't care for most of the guys in our current bullpen. I'd like to see three or four new faces next year.
  2. I don't know if it's the most depressing, I don't have the heart to go through all the stats, it's certainly a turd bag in the dumpster fire that is the 2024 season.
  3. Solid outing by Francis. Probably closer to what we can reasonably expect from him than what he had been doing previously. It would be big if he sticks.
  4. No Devers against Boston, Cubs are only okay. Orioles, one start was pretty good the other was average. I'm not knocking him, but there is some voodoo going on here. Nonetheless, this will be a good test.
  5. The Phillies should prove to be a very good test for Bowden's Voodoo magic.
  6. Amazing how good teams overcome the excuses. We've actually been pretty lucky with injuries the last few seasons compared to other teams.
  7. Really going out on a limb with that pick.
  8. Yes the completely unproven nonsense of innings limits. Let's hope to God he doesn't throw 101 lest his arm explode.
  9. They are f***ing hideous. I mean I can't stand the Jays' ones either but these are no good. Jerseys are actively getting uglier because people think they're smarter and more creative than they actually are.
  10. I'm still bitterly disappointed that Pop didn't plunk his ass in the 9th.
  11. I voted fringe pitcher on behalf of Taylor Ward.
  12. He'll be on the IL with a forearm strain tomorrow, TJ surgery incoming. Still worth going for the no no.
  13. If you build a truly talented team with few weaknesses, that's all you can do. If you put together a good pitching staff with a f***ing putrid offense, for instance, you haven't built s***.
  14. Does anybody practice it? f***, it's actually embarrassing. Dave Winfield lays down a beauty in the 9th inning of a World Series, on astroturf, and these f***ing fringe players can't lay one down in a nothing game in a lost season.
  15. You never know. I've always been a proponent of never assuming anything about "windows" to compete and taking your opportunities when they pop up. They should have made a serious investment at the trade deadline for starting pitching last year and not simply assumed that they'll be dynamos for the next six or seven years because s*** does happen. Maybe last year was their best opportunity, then again maybe they'll win three titles in the next 6 years. But you take nothing for granted in sports. That's why I felt the 2021 Blue Jays should have gone even more all in and earlier than they did, especially with the bullpen.
  16. LOL, must win for what? Don't worry, Boston won't make it either.
  17. Including the Angels, so I guess 13-16 without them. If you want to throw in the afternoon Boston game as a more true indication of the second half, still 14-16. Kind of what we've been, even if we are doing it a bit different right now. It's more fun to watch at least, mostly. Of course our personal enjoyment of the team might also be skewed by those Angels games, but the offense hasn't been as insufferable as it was earlier in the year, the sudden return of M.Vladdy.P. and at least there is some youth to look forward to. Also to see if Francis is a mirage or a legit backend rotation piece.
  18. It's over. Been over for a while. If they had managed to win a couple of more games during the season and still manage to win a couple of more in Boston yes Minnesota could have at least been fascinating this weekend. But they didn't, and it won't be. Besides this still isn't a great team, outside of the Angels it's still been up and down, and the Angels are just an absolute sack of s***. In fact I'm pretty sure we're a few games under .500 in the second half if you factor out the dominance of the Angels.
  19. Are we officially going for our fifth win in a row or sixth in a row?
  20. Pop clearly not a team first guy. Be gone. f***er could have even sold it as a tailing fastball that got away.
  21. Scoreline making it very tempting to plant one in the back side of Taylor Ward.
