  1. Spanky needs a friend in this thread. I'm here for you bud.
  2. Lol. Whatever, I'm not going to lose sleep over it. MLB gonna MLB, 2024 gonna 2024, but for them to get credit for trying to "make things right", come on, this is really a sleight of hand to make as much of the unsavoury past just go away.
  3. So do MLB records also apply to the Negro League? By definition they must. It has to go both ways to make logical sense. This whole thing is so comically jumbled. Anyhow, baseball is the game of asterisks anyhow. Might as well as some more.
  4. They need to stop trying to fix things that are not fixable. The past happened, it is what it is. Nobody was looking down on the Negro League, everybody understood what was happening. But you can't just wholesale apply the numbers of one league to a completely different one. It's farcical. It cheapens both leagues to me.
  5. The best city connect jerseys are none at all. Anyone who has a problem can get off my f***ing lawn.
  6. Both overjoyed and kind of sad. One of the greatest heels in the history of baseball. I so loved to hate him. There are others but, it just won't be the same.
  7. It's hard to feel any emotion with this team stuck in purgatory. I felt no excitement with the go-ahead home run today and I felt no real frustration when they blew it. I'm kind of numb to them at this point. It's exciting when you're a contender, it can also be exciting when you're rebuilding if you see future stars emerging in big moments. But very little is exciting when you're stuck in the middle.
  8. He did lose his job at the very very end of last year to Hicks in a key save situation. We really didn't know who the closer would be in the postseason and it never came up, but Schneider had lost confidence in Romano. Romano is not a bad closer he's just not a dominant one. I've never been in love with the guy as a closer, he's probably the best option we've had overall in the last several years, but ideally if we're a World Series contender I would like somebody a little more dominant than him. It doesn't matter anymore, he won't be here the next time we contend.
  9. Old school Detroit/Toronto battle going on here.
  10. Never said they didn't have talent, of course they have talent. They don't have enough of it and they're not consistent enough with it.
  11. Hopefully your son catches this team on one of their good days, they could look pretty good when they play anywhere close to their talent.
  12. I don't give them the benefit of the doubt until I actually see them do something.
  13. His optimism doesn't really concern me, if the front office is still optimistic, that's a problem. There needs to be a plan of action that's currently underway to make the changes that need to be made.
  14. Don't worry, they'll win another game, scoring like seven runs, and everybody will have the chance to believe that the march towards greatness is on again.
  15. People thought this series was an opportunity for the Blue Jays? The Tigers looked at this series and thought, "BBQ chicken".
  16. I'd like to see Barger again. He hit some balls well, I think he was better than his numbers. Now that the first time is out of the way, he may get better results.
  17. Where did you read this? I still see it as two outs I just think it was a soft call on the interference.
  18. Back to your regularly scheduled mid Blue Jays team.
  19. And the bipolar Jays fans continue to go from "we're back" to "we suck".
